Recently I went to the doctor complaining of tingeling sensation in my arms and legs, blurred vision, a feeling like I was spinning...a CT scan said that I have a sinis infection...I have taken the sinus meds and thats fine but why do I feel all tingely...I was going to Hot Yoga around the time that all this started...but I can look back I remember alot of times that I had the blurred vision that I would try to wear cheater glasses to correct it...also I suffer from panic attacks...Why wouldn't the doctor check me for MS, since I seemed to have all the signs...I noticed earlier today I went out and jumped on my trampoline came in took a warm shower and my body just felt like a it had little pulses of electicity going thru it, it was crazy...and flourecent lights make me really dizzy and panicie...like at the grocery store or the dentist, doctors office's...and I also get really nauseated by all of this the stress and worry...what do you think

Hey Star2222

Welcome to the board. U do seem to have some varied symptoms. I couldn't say they are all ms'ish, but some are. Most likely u'r doc didn't persue an ms theory because he found a sinus infection. The usual process is that they will look for the obvious and if they find anything, they'll treat it. If that turns out not to be the root cause of u'r problems, then they'll look deeper. Given that ms type symptons can be LOTS of things, there will likely be many diff tests. A dx of ms is a dx of elimination....when there is nothing left that it can be...and when there is enuf that looks like ms then u may be dx'd with ms. Be sure to tell u'r doc all that u've told us here. Take care and be prepared for a possible long haul on this friend.

Anxiety, stress and panic attacks can cause tingling.  I would be sure to talk to your doctor about these symptoms.  What made you think MS?  There are many, many MS mimics out there that could be causing your symptoms.  Check for circulation problems, lyme disease, herniated disc, pinched nerve(s), metabolic disorders, diabetes, or allergies to start.  Good luck.

Star, before my wife was diagnosed she had similar symtoms. She would have dizzy spells, and vision problems (sensitive to bright lights). When we saw the Dr, he thought it was high blood pressure. (however, it was White Coat Syndrom). So, being clueless we said ok that must be it. Then she started to get tingling sensations on her right side and the night we took her back to the ER she said that the bed was spinning. They checked all the normal stuff, EKG, CAT Scan, etc and thought that it may be vertigo. All negative. An MRI is what finally brought them to the conclusion of MS.

I pray that you do not have MS but I would see a Nuero and get an MRI scan to make sure.

God Bless You!!!

Hi Marylou,

I am sorry you are feeling so poorly.  Of course we cannot diagnose you here.  Certainly I would see a neurologist when you can. Send your MRI report and a copy ahead.  Bring that same copy with you.  See what he or she has to say about this.  Stress does not cause brain lesions but stress will certainly make things worse.

Get to your doctor and let us know what he or she says.  I hope you are feeling better soon.
