cry  have been having weird sypmtoms so I went to my doc and talked with her about it, my family has a history with MS and i told her that also. She has said that I have possible MS and she wants me to go see a nuerologist for a brain MRI, I hate those machines, I start to feel panic when i am in them. A new symptom has arose with my muscles  were it feels like they are cement bricks, its hard to move them, there are also times when i will wake up and feel like i got hit by a bus because my muscles hurt so bad. Here are the sypmtoms i have been dealing with: I do tremor, i have had accidents ( like bladder or bowel ) my vision is blurry, my hands and feet are constently cold but when my boyfriend touches them he says they feel warm, when its hot outside its hard to walk and it feels really bright and my eyes hurt soo bad that i dont want to open them and it feels like my face droupes, i am constently fatigued i can sleep for 8 hours and still feel like i havent slept and if i could i would sleep all day, sometimes it feels like electrical currents down my arms to my finger tips, i get numbness in my arms and legs and toes and fingers, sometimes i will have spasms in my face or arms or legs ( sometimes during the night when a blanket or sheet touches my legs ), when i walk and its hot i notice that i have trouble lifting my foot to walk with out dragging it ( soo irratating ), when i put my chin to my chest it kills my back, sometimes when i go to pick up something its like my fingers or hand wont grasp it and it falls ( broken plates and glasses before because of it ), my eyes hurt when i move them to either side and they jerk back and fourth atleast once a day if not more. So yeah i am scared about going to the nuerologist for my Brain MRI because I am scared to know if I have lesions or not but part of me wants to know. My doc has set up appointments for me to go and get it done but like two days before i go in i cancel because i am scared. What do i do?! and has anyone felt like this before in the beginning?

I am sorry you are having these experiences.  Unfortunately we are not doctors and we cannot diagnose you.  You will have to have an MRI and be seen by a neurologist if you want those answers.  Good luck and I hope you are feeling better soon.

Yeah I know I just am kind of scared to know because I dont know how it will effect me emotionally if it does turn out to be MS, I dont know how its going to effect me working, I do know how it will effect the relationship I'm in though because we talked about it and he said that he would stay with me and take care of me which is good, but I dont want anyone feeling sorry for me or anything like that because the way I truely think about it, it was written in my chart when I was conceived, and that God doesnt give us anything we cant handle. Its just going to be hard if it is MS to accept it at first.

Hi Tinkerbell,
Love the name by the way. I am sure you are frightened. The symptoms your experiencing are scarey ones, but MS mimics many diseases. It sounds as though your doctor is being pretty proactive in sending you to a neurologist quicklky, whichn i think is great. Alot of us here had to go round and round with doctors to finally get in the right hands. The MRI's do stink. Alot of people have a hard time with them. Maybe your doc can prescribe something to help you relax. I dont have a problem with them so i really don;t have any suggestions but that. Your symtoms are familiar , but like i said before, there are so many diseases that mimic MS i woldn't jump the gun. Do what they tell you, its better to find out quick so if it is MS, you  can get on one of the meds to help delay the progression. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Any questions, please ask. I am sure everyone here will be more than happy to answer any we can.
Peace,
Lynn

Yeah I am going in to talk to her tomorrow considering there are some new things and there are other tests that I think should be done too like blood tests to rule out lyme disease, diseases known as collagen-vascular diseases, certain rare hereditary disorders and AIDS ( even though I know I dont have it ) and I am going to ask her about doing an Evoked Potential Test. I am still going to get the MRI but I think these tests would be good also, but you are right about finding out sooner then later that way if it is MS I can start taking meds to slow things down. I have thought about it and yes I may be scared and if things dont turn out for the better that I have a support circle that will be there for me when I need to talk and things like that. Thank you for replying to my post I appreciate it.

Hey Tink- good job being proactive and requesting other tests. MS has so many symptoms like so many other things. The MRI is probably the best test- I always get some valium for those and find that having a little mirror to watch the workers helps me. I did not find the offer to lay a towel over my eyes helpful at all, but some people like that. It's scary finding out, but I found it more stressful to have symptoms and not know- I was constantly researching things and frightening myself. I was relieved to finally have an answer in a lot of ways. Good luck with everything and remember if you do have MS it is best to get diagnosed early and start a disease-modifying treatment. Willow

Hi TinK, Welcome....I live in Pennsylvania.  I have heard of a new kind of MRI machine in York, Pa that you are not closed in.  You should check into that and maybe you can find one that is close to where you are located.
