Hi everyone,
I take 250mg of magnesium every day which helps with my IBS (constipation).  This week when the Rebif nurse came to the house to teach me how to do my injections, she suggested I do my research and maybe not take the magnesium as metals can affect MS.  I am going to check with my pharmacy, however I was assured by the nurse that Rebif doesn't have any interaction with anything, including the magnesium I am taking.  My neurologist knows I take it.  He didnt say anything.
Is there anyone else out there that knows of this or takes magnesium and has been told it is ok or not ok?  Thanks for your input.

Actually, magnesium may also help with muscle stiffness and spasm. I have never heard that it may help with IBS. I asked my neuro about magnesium, and he told me I could try it. He did tell me to stay away from zinc.

Hi Barb,

The magnesium acts as a laxative.  Just like in Milk of Magnesium.  I can only take 250mg or it is too much the laxative.  Thanks so much for your reply.

tongue  I take Magnesium for leg and foot cramps I have at night. I take it with 99mg Potassium which seems to help. But despite taking these, I still have painful cramps occasionally, just not as often.
