Hi everyone, I've been having eye pain and blurred vision in one eye. Yesturday I was driving back from chicago and o course driving just stresses me out. I notice my vision was getting worst. I couldn't focus on anything. Thankfully my right eye is ok. I was wonder can your vision be affected by a lesion in the brain or is just on the optic nerve? My neuro is referring to a eye doc.

Hey Mikaela

I don't know if i can answer u'r question correctly, but as far as i'm aware the optic nerve is where u'r prob would lie if u'r vision is affected. I'm glad u'r doc is referring u to an eye doc. Any eye doc should be able to tell u if there is an issue with u'r optic nerve, but for that matter, u'r neuro should also be able to. Hang in there friend and please let us know how u'r appt goes.

During flares, i get double vision but not pain. neuro sent me to head of neuro-opthamalogy at jefferson hospital in philly where they ruled out any problems with my eyes. it was ms giving me the double vision. now i try to have someone with me if i'm driving or beg rides. the blurs don't last more than a day but it is very scary.

Hi Mikaela,

Although I have just been recently diagnosed one of the very first sysmptoms I had was blurred vision, double vision and rapid eye movement, which wa svery frightening.

I was given a drug called Beta Histine, which is intially for Vertigo, but apparently this drug also helps with vision problems.

I hope this helps, worth a try.

Good luck at your appointment

Hey Meche:

I had to sign off the live chat early, so I don't know if you joined in or not.

My eyesight has always been poor, but during a "flash" it gets worse, at times the double vision (What?? I have TWO coffee tables???), which is so disorienting. I'll check w/ my doc about the Beta-Histine, though.
