has anyone heard of this drug? It was orginally used to treat leukemia, and eventually chronic leukemia. It dampens down the immune system, and a doctor thought it might be effictive in treating MS

the drug is from Great Britain, and also..........they discovered patients on the drug, their brains enlarged, as opposed to Betaseron that will actually shrink brains..

they think the enlargement shows stopping and possible reversal of MS
It seemed like a good idea at the time

Hey Dennis,

I posted about this a while back.  It goes by the name of Campath.  It is an infusion and yes it is used for leukemia.  There are still a lot of problems with it.  It has some wicked side effects that they are trying to control.  It can cause severe and idiopathic allergies.  For those on the studies.......the anecdotal reports are mixed........some loved it and felt better and others hated it and were stuck with these weird and seemingly permanent allergic responses.

It seems that we have the possibility of lots of med. options in the next few years.  I am more excited about that Claderbine.  That seems somewhat safer.
