Hi to everyone.  I am 43 and for the past 5 months have had sever vertigo have been to ear dr. all test were fine, Unbalanced at times I would have to hold on to some thing or I would fall over or as my family calls it wobble!  My legs were always hurting at night but now I have pain all day and they are hard to move at times. I do get numbness but it doesn't stay. I have had many other symptoms and have been to a neurologist but didnt feel he was very good. He did MRI of brain and spine but at first said everything was fine and than stated that the only thing he could see is at my spine goes to brain it is deteriorating said he couldn't help me but I had been pushing his office to send me on to a specialist because I just didn't feel like he took me serious at one point of office visit he stated that he didnt feel like I was faking it I was so upset my life is turned upside down and he thinks I am faking it.  I dont feel comfortable driving and have to have family take care of my kids.  I have a appt. with a specialist but it isnt till june I was wondering if anyone had a neurologist that is close to St Louis Missouri that they could recommend.  I sometimes feel like maybe there is something really wrong and if it isn't ms I will find out to late.  I have had blood work and everything keeps coming up okay.  I also get this pain in-between my shoulder blades that is extreme squeezing and sometimes hard to breath that has been happening for a year on and off dr said it was just muscle spasm it can last a day go away and it is back a few days later Thank you for talking with me I have been so worried and down lately
God bless

Sorry I can't help with a referral as I live in NC but just wanted you to know I hope things get better. Sometimes you can find referrals through the web. Also, maybe try your local MS society chapter for info for a neurologist. You may also try your family practice doc who might have the name of a good neuro and could get you in sooner!!! Good luck to you!!!

Here is a link that can explain the diagnostic process of MS. You may want to keep that appointment in June. If you get something before that time then great, but don't cancel it. Getting an appointment with a good MS specialist can take a long time.  I hope you are feeling better soon.

Thank you for the information. I have learned a lot from this forum and thank everyone for taking the time to write about there stories. Yes I will keep the appt. in June but am in search of someone that could get me in sooner. I had gone to Barnes a few weeks ago the ER DR said he wanted to get my appt. moved up but than hours later a Neurologist on duty came in and did a exam he said he didnt think it was neurological but he felt it was muscular well I am sorry I dont understand the information and he said to keep my appt. and sent me on my way I went in I was having one of my really bad couple of days where I felt like my body was giving out on me and this wave of unbalanced, dizzy, and memory went crazy on me. In the past not that time I have also had 2 times for about a couple hours feel like my insides are buzzing or best way to describe to me is ants racing up and down my whole body not out side but internally has anyone ever had those feelings?
Thanks for all your help

MC21 I know how you feel I went through years of brain scans where the diagnosis was possible MS the spinal tap came back neg and the last MRI came back with a diffent MS I go see a neurolgist in two weeks. Let hope I don't get the same run around I got from other doctors. I don't think I will.

Go keep pushing on and good luck.
