I have to have these tests done but can't get in until the end of July.

Can someone who has had them explain them to me?  When I scheduled the appt I was told I had to come on 2 different days and could expect to be there 2-4 hours each day.

Wow! I can't imagine! I had them both done at the same time and it took about 45 minutes. They also added lower extremeties for me. BAER is just a hearing test. VEP is evoked potentials. They will hook up electrodes to your scalp (painless) and then you have to watch this video monitor. There will be a point in the center that they want you to focus on. As you focus on this, there will be this alternating checker board pattern flashing. Your eyes will want to wander about and they will keep reminding you to focus on that center spot.

It is all very painless and no stress. I can only imagine that they are using two different techs for your testing and that 2-4 hour time is mostly wait time! That stinks.

I got the tech to reveal the test results to me. I was a merciless flirt and he let me know my results right away. (BAER normal, VEP - fail, lower extremeties - delayed) He also made me promise I would not tell my neurologist that I knew my results so you might not be successful in getting those results early. I can be very manipulative. tongue

Good luck. Let us know what you learn.
