Well, I kept my appointment on July 2nd. It went almost as I expected it to. I walked in, he told me that my MS was in "remission" and I won't have another relapse ever. I asked about my MRI's and he told me that they said the same thing as the last one. I asked for a lesion count and he didn't answer me. Now he has recinded ALL of my dx's including fibro cuz he doesn't feel that I have all the sypmtoms for either of them.

My inablity to move my body in the morning is my mattress and my back pain is from the weight I gained while having children and lifting.....which I don't lift anything more than about 10 pounds. He checked my feeling in my feet and jambed his reflex hammer into the bottom of my feet till I could feel it. And after that, I couldn't get a single question out of my mouth without him cutting me off. He pretty much told me that I'm cured of the MS and that I will be able to go back to work as soon as he figures out what's wrong with my neck, back and why I have a headache all day every day.

He still insists that the spinal tap is the end all be all tests for MS and refuses to allow me to ask questions about how he got his answers. I am frustrated beyond belief. I am tired so he gave me Ambien and Elavil (antidepressant) to help me sleep and some kind of suppliment to help me get some energy.  I am now in the market for a new neuro, but I am going to get a copy of my MRI report before I go searching for doctors. I want to read it in black and white that I have the same number of lesions as I did 2 years ago.

How can one doctor discount 3 other doctors after seeing me for only 3 appointments? Can MS go into remission?

I don't believe that mine is not going to come back. I've already had 2 known attacks. 4 years ago I had one lesion and 2 years ago I had 6 more for a total of 7 lesions.  I am so tired of the roller coaster ride this doctor has started.  Sorry for the long post!!!

Your doctor is an idiot.  There is no way he can predict that you will never have another relapse and it sounds like he is not taking you seriously at all.  You need to find someone new as soon as possible so that you can receive treatment when necessary.  Good luck, I know how frustrating this must be for you.

I would get away from that quack as soon as possible! Sounds like someone who doesn't care too much for his profession! This guy has a cure for MS????
Good luck to you Heather.

Oh my stars Heather,
Is this guy for real? He sounds nuts. I would have been like a crazy person in there if it were me. I cant believe this. What a nut is right. I hate that these doctors just think they are supreme beings. I would find a new neuro asap. Have you seen a MS specialist? Maybe that would be wise even for a second opinion. I can imagine how frustrated you must be.
Let us know how you make out
Peace

Hi,
I swear I have been there.  I am not dx'ed but have had one Dr. that was a female that was such an air head. She would be looking at her shoes, or her big rings on her fingers or maybe even thinking about what she was going to have for dinner that night instead of listening to me. I would go for my next appt and she would say lets do this test, and I would say we already did it isnt it in my records? She never ever ever remembered anything. I understand that Dr's have many patients but READ my chart....She told me I dont know what's wrong with you so you are one of those patients that we put in the 5% that we just dont know whats going on with you...OH PLEASE..Well i did find someone else, and thats the key if your not happy keep searching for someone who makes you feel comfortable and listens to you...Good Luck...Beannie

I went to my primary on friday and she is gonna help me get in with a local neuro. She said that after 3 appointments, the other doctor shouldn't be recinding all of my dx's from a rhumey. He thinks that I don't have fibro anymore because I don't exihibit memory loss in his office. I am just fed up with doctors in general at this point.

I am almost tempted to run myself into the ground and land in the ER for a reasonable doctor to listen and understand what I am saying. The quack gave me a dietary supplement that is suppose to relieve my back pain. I have been taking it like it says and I still have no relief. My head still hurts and i am still unable to move my neck for about 4 hours in the morning. I really don't think this doctor knows what he is talking about. I have never heard of MS just going away on it's own. And I have been on more web sites than I can remember looking for information on MS just stopping on it's own.

Saturday a.m.

Good morning, Miss Heather:

You deserve MUCH better medical care than you have been recieving...

May I suggest you contact your state MS Society for a refferral to a MS specialist neuro?

I was DX'ed in 1987.....and given a rerral to my neuro....who has a practice with 10 other neuros....and all they do is MS.

Boy....I sure sleep better at night...knowing my neuro is WAY,WAY outfront of things in the MS world.

If I may ask...where do you live?  I live outside of Detroit MI.

Great Luck to you....

John,

I live in Upstate New York. Neuro's around here are few and far between.  I have to travel on average about 60 to 90 minutes one way to find a decent specialist.  I have asked my primary doctor for help finding answers.  I have to get the rest of my records into the office so that I can get an appointment with a new neuro. Unfortunaly, I can't find a MS Specialist since my original neuro retired due to his own health issues.
