I am new to this forum. My friend has had "mild ms" since 1974. She is now 67 years old and is planning on having a laminectomy soon as she has tried all other treatment for her spinal stenosis and is in excruiating pain. It is very difficult to see her suffer like this. She has finally decided to have the surgery. I am very worried about her as she does not walk well because of the ms. She also has osteoporosis and I am afraid that she may fall and break something.
Please ... if anyone has had this experience with mild ms and back surgery please help me - I need to know what to expect.

I don't have any experience with back surgery.  I am very glad to hear that she considers her MS mild.  I am sorry to hear that it causes walking problems.  As long as the doctos and nurses label her a "falling risk" while she is being treated, she should be fine.  She needs to make sure she has either a wheelchair or walker during recovery.  She will need PT.  I am sure her surgeon knows about her MS.
The surgery shouldn't be a problem.  People with MS have surgery with few or no complications.  She just needs to avoid falling.  Injury on top of MS and her other problems may create some real problems.  I wish her the very best of luck.
