I'm not sure which "Diseases and Conditions" I should be posting in so bear with me please. I'd like to know if anyone has experienced my symptoms and may know what is causing them.
For the past 5 years or so I have been experiencing a strange sort of "attack" from my waist down, including both legs. I get a sudden and very severe overall pain along with numbness. I am able to move but I don't as I'm too afraid. It definitely feels like something fatal is about to happen if it keeps going but then it stops after a few minutes. I don't mean I think it will kill me but I feel it will "kill" my lower extremities somehow. It usually happens as I am getting up in the morning but recently it happened when I was riding my bike which I do every day. On the average, this happens to me about once a month. I know it's not a lot but I am worried that one of these times I'm not going to recover from it. I've asked my Doctor about it and the 1st time I told her she just said something like "Well, that's strange." and left it at that. That was 5 years ago. I finally got the nerve up to force the issue with her today and impress on her how much it is scaring me. She is setting up an appt with a neurologist. Has anyone reading this ever had symptoms such as these? If so, could you give me an idea what is causing it? Thanks. :)
