Hi,
I have pelvic floor dysfunction and it is always in spasm which causes me great difficulty having a bm.  This coming week they are going to try botox injections to try and relax the muscles in that area.  Does anyone have any good success stories they can give me in regard to this type of treatment.  I have gone through the biofeedback therapy all the necessary tests and nothing has given me relief.  A few doctors have recommended a colostomy but then they are skeptical to do it on me because they feel it might not work and then where would I be.  I would appreciate any suggestions you might have I am currently scheduled on Wednesday of this week.  Thank you for your help.

Hey Karen,

I have had botox on my left leg for chronic spasticity that was turning my leg/foot in.  It worked well.  I didn't have any problems with it.  I hope your botox helps with your issues.  Good luck.

Thank you Gretchen for responding to my post.  How long did the shot's effects last for you.  But I guess it's different for every person and each situation it's used for.  Thanks again, Karen Marie

I was told it would last 3 to 6 months.  It has been over two years now.  The spasticity I was experiencing was due to a flare.  I have not needed the botox again.  Hopefully it will last several months.  Think positive!  It could be that you get real relief from this.
