I am on a mission to find out what is wrong with me and I hope that maybe one of you will recognize the symptoms.  I understand that MS is different in everyone but here goes.  I have SLE, sjogrens, and APS.  My fatigue has been off the charts since summer(sleeping 3 to 4 hours midday and still tired).  I have tingling, burning, numbness in all 4 extremeties.  Ringing in ears, disabling joint pain(pain moves around),severe headaches, reflux, smell smoke where there is none, wake to crashes and bangs in the night(noone else wakes).  weird feeling of wetness on knees.  Perplexed, I go to wipe off knee, nothing there. sternum soreness. Vertigo, nausea, blurred/double vision.  Any ideas?  I dont think that this is just SLE or Sjogrens acting up...these symptoms are new to me

some of these symptoms could certainly be MS, but there are a lot of other things that could also cause these symptoms.

Have you seen an MS specialist, or had an mRI of the brain or spine?

I have had and still have similar symptoms to you, and for a long time I thought I had MS, however I have now been diagnosed, and I have Lyme disease.

It may also be worth you looking at the Lyme, CFS, and Fibromyalgia boards, and perhaps make some enquiries there.

Good luck

Thank you for your reply.  What were/are your symptoms(if its not too intrusive to ask) and how did you finally come about with a Lyme diagnosis?  What kind of doctor did you see?  I have a rheum doc as well as an internal med doc but neither seem to be as concerned as I am...'course, I am the one dealing with the ever-changing symptoms, not them.  Go figure, right?  I am seriously concerned about neurological damage with all of the numbness

My internal med doc doesnt want to refer me to an MS specialist despite the fact that she cannot explain what is going on. I had an MRI of the brain last year, it showed a couple of white spots...an MS specialist did not read the films tho.

Most o9f us have been through this interminable waiting while they wait for symptoms to develop over time. Excruciating.
However, it seems ridiculous to me that you are being held back from a neurologist. A neurologist can diagnose all sortsd of conditions related to the brain and not necessarily Multiple Sclerosis. Why see a doctor that does not have the full details of what might ail you ?
