I have been dealing with ms for 4 years now. I am a 47 year old male. I broke my femor in June and have been in mobile since.  I have succussfully push many out of life.  The hardest move I have made was to release my girlfriend from my misery.  I wanted her to move on and find what she needed because I could not give her what she needed.  She is now dating and I am crushed,I didn't think it was supposed to this hard. I have no social life now and feel worthless.  I am afraid of these feelings because I am beginning to obsese think I will be alone.  I am hoping someone out there has been successful at rebuilding after a similar experience.

I am so sorry to hear about your struggles. I also have MS and feel for you right now. I wanted you to know you are not alone your best friend is yourself. Love yourself and try to see the positive (this did not happen to your kids). I am sure this not the email you wanted but know I cared enough to register and respond and let you know you are not alone. Takecare

I cannot say that I've been where you've been but drawing on my experience with this illness I can say that there is always hope. It can get better, that's what's so... miraculous... interesting... scary, about this illness. It can get better. The most amazing thing though, I think, is how much I've realized that we can stand, how much people can live, through, get through, and come out on the other side of.
Have faith that your life can take shape around this new obstacle and still be a beautiful one. Remember to let people into your life. People can be much more understanding than we give them credit for sometimes and there are some truly amazing, open hearted people out there.
You say you've burned some bridges, and reaching out to these people again, rebuilding, or making new alliances is hard but reach out, don't let MS stop you from living and loving, you CAN do both of these from a chair.
Sending love,

I am afraid I am the type of person who comes here and tries to fix things.  I just don't know what to say about your situation.  It's so sad.  I am very sorry for you.  Like the others, I hope you will give reaching out to others a chance.
Perhaps you could try a support group of MSers.  Nobody understands what we go through like one of our own.  If you have a local MS society near you, you might give them a call and explain things.  They may have support groups or even social groups that might be to your liking.
You can rebuild.  Remember that for many (for me anyway) attraction has very little to do with appearances and abilities.  Just get out there and be you.  You received excellent advice from both Msmama and Diana.  I hope it will help you'll feel better soon.
Msmama, I was touched by the fact that you registered just to reach out.  Thank you!
