I am new to this site and would like to get your opinions on possible MS.
I have an MRI scheduled for tomorrow morning because my primary care doctor wants to "be on the safe side" and check for MS. I am 37 years old and a mother of 4:):)
The reason for his wanting to check this out are: about 3 weeks ago I was walking down my hallway and suddenly the room began spinning as if I were on a merry go round. This only lasted about 4 minutes and then I felt fine. I didn't think anything of it..other than "What was that about"! Then yesterday I was sitting on the couch with my kids and all of a sudden my vision was blurry and I had double vision. This lasted about 5 minutes and then I was fine again!
I decided to call the nurse and she said the dr. would like to see me right away. My blood pressure was fine and he had me follow his finger to check my eyes as well as looked in my eyes. He doesn't believe it is my optical nerve but wants me to see an eye dr. to have them double check my optical nerve. I have an appt. with the eye dr on Tuesday of next week. He told me that we could wait and get the results of the MRI and then go to the eye dr.
Needless to say when he told me he wanted to do an MRI to check for possible MS I was not expecting that at all!!
After leaving the dr office and crying in my car:) I got to thinking about other things that I have going on and now I am even more scared! I had and MRI and saw a neurologist back in the late 90's for unexplained shoulder pain that would hurt so bad I couldn't move my arms to even get undressed or pick up my daughter. They tested me then for a bunch of horrible diseases and never came up with an explanation. And of course the pain went away and I wrote if off as stress.
I do still get shoulder pain as well as wrist, elbow, hip and ankle aches. I have been diagnosed with restless leg syndrome as well. I notice that the pain in my shoulder is more evident when I am stressed out!
I also had a few occasions in 2001 where my tongue would feel like it was going numb. I called my doctor at the time and they had no explanation for it and again that went away and I just forgot about it.
Now today I am stressed as all get out and scared out of my mind about what they are going to find on the MRI and my shoulder, elbow, wrist, thigh, and ankle are all bothering me on my left side. I am assuming it is because I am so stressed that I just can't relax and that is why I am achy today.
If you would please let me know what you think and if in your opinion it could be MS I would really appreciate it! I know I am like everyone else here and the part of not knowing is the worst!!!! :(
Thank you for time and I will keep you updated on what I find out from the MRI!
Have a great day!! :)
