I was diagnosed a few months ago with Fibromyalgia. At first my family doc thought I may have MS. My questions is this, how do I know for sure that I don't have MS, and that it's Fibro instead? Should I get a spinal tap? Brain MRI was clear.
Thanks so much!

MS is usually diagnosed by a neurologist who specializes in it. Some MRI machines are better than others at detecting lesions, and some do not use the contrast.

I would suggest seeing a neuro and go from there.

Are you having nerve symptoms or just widespread muscular pain? If it's just muscle, I wouldn't agree to a spinal tap, but of course, that is up to you. Good luck.
