Just a quick post because I don't know if I am supposed to say anything yet. I have had MS for twenty years and started having bladder problems about seven years ago. I have had major bladder issues with retention, urgency and inability to hold for years to the point that I was wearing pads full time, always panicked a bathroom wasn't nearby, etc., etc. THE GOOD NEWS IS -- OR I SHOULD SAY THE BEST NEWS is that I have been in a botox study group that is being conducted worldwide for Bladder problems and it has changed my life entirely. All my symptoms are gone- each injection (done at the urologist) lasts me over a year (varies with individuals) and has been so successful that it is rumored that it is going to be sped through the whole FDA process so that it will be available in the next year or two. So, hang in there- hope is on the way!!!
The only side effect for some is that in the beginning it may actually difficult to urinate...I catheterized for a few months but at least I was able to go out for extended periods of time and there was no more worrying- YIPPEE and good luck to you all!!!
