First, I wanted to let you all know that my appt with Neuro has been moved up!  I go on Thursday, the 20th.  Previous appt was Nov. 14th, therefore I am happy about that.  The office called me today and had a cancellation I am so grateful, it is almost overwhelming.

I am still having the muscle weakness and extreme fatigue.  And yes, lupus is well known for fatigue, but believe it or not, this is even worse.  Anyway, had a really weird thing happen to me Monday night.  I had not been feeling well all day Monday and actually thought my lupus was flaring up.  I had also had a bad headache all day and this too happens sometimes when lupus flares up.

But the other stuff came on rather suddenly and lasted a good 3 hours.  I thought surely I would be in ER before night was over, but kept praying it would go away.  I was nauseated, which is a normal thing, but this time, it was over the top.  I was very weak and was hurting in my back, felt like it was more in kidney region and thought I possibly may be getting a kidney infection.  Then my stomach started burning like it was literally on fire.  Not just the upper abdomen or lower but the whole stomach region from upper to bottom and side to side.  I have had GERD for 30 years and had burning in upper abdomen and chest, so really familiar with that.  This was totally different.  I went to bed with my little trash can, holding onto it for dear life and just prayed.  at times, I wasn't even sure I was conscious.  The burning was so bad, it was stinging.  I have never had anything like this before and hope I never do again.  I finally went to sleep and I slept til 10:30 Tues morning.

I do hope & pray this is not something that will happen often, don't think I can handle it again.   Just another thing to write on my list for my appt.  I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared, I am scared to death.  As I said in another post, I only have hope and I am holding on to that.  Anyway, wish me lots of luck and I will keep you posted as to what happens.

OH, BTW, is there any order to which tests is run first and if something found on one, do they continue with more or what seems to show up on one is enough?

Thanks to all of you!!

Doctors can vary so it can depend. For me the order went like this: full neuro exam of reflexes and responses, a medical history recording episodes, an MRI, blood work, lumbar puncture, and evoked potentials. I had something show up on everything except the blood work. The tests spanned a time of several weeks.

I hope this helps.

They were very heavy I was very very tired. I did get better for a while, then worse again as evening started. Up now because legs & feet uncomfortable.
