My neighbor has MS and told me she was recently at a Lions Club meeting where a man with Parkison's spoke about some type of dental appliance that caused his shaking to stop and this treatment would also help in MS.   I'm just afraid this is a hoax, has anyone heard of such a thing?

I'm not a moderator here and I don't have MS but I found this YouTube video that shows what you heard about.  I have no idea if this is really effective.  In short, the patients bit down on what looks like a tongue depressor sticking out of their mouth and there seem to be a couple of pressure points on the mid section of the body that are pressed.  I can't say one way or the other about if it would really work on a person with MS or Parkinson's.

My Neuro actually talked about this at a MS meeting. It basically sends little shockwaves to your brain stem and makes your brain work. I think he said that the therapy is for 20 minutes per day. He talked about knowing a nurse that tried this therapy to regain the ability to walk and it was successul. He also claimed that people born blind were starting to gain eyesight from this.
...I'm not sure what I believe....

I have heard of a dentist in Seattle or in that area who developed an appliance that he is trying to introduce to the dental community.

Basically, it is thought that many people can not recover from chronic fatigue, fibro, lyme, MS and other situations because of either dental work
or an accident that jarred the head and neck.

Some how the whole function of the tongue in the body is altered and it effectes the immune system.

I wonder if this is along the same idea or even the same doc. I have to dig back to see.

Also if there are parasites in the brain an shock may be able to kill them off by paralyzing them.
I wonder if this whole idea is similar to the new shock treatments for bipolar. There is a new type of sock therapy.

very interesting. thank you for sharing info . I think it may help some of the other forum categories
