I'm not in the midst of an exacerbation (I assume) but I notice my memory and ability to think of things is worse.  What I mean is that for example, I'm in a meeting talking about a database system, I'm asked how I use the system, I name some functions but somehow I 'forget' to remember a major way in which I use the database!  Another example: talking with my doctor about pending foot surgery.  I'm asking him all kinds of questions, he asks if I have any more, I say no.  Then he launches into all the risks of the surgery.  How did I 'forget' to ask that?!?!?  I have a million examples of me just not understanding something and having to be reminded or asked about something I already know!
I know cognition problems are typical and although I don't think I'm having an exacerbation, maybe I actually am????? I don't know.
I will be seeing my neurologist but want to know if anyone has had success with treatments that help your cognitive function?   If so, what are you using/taking?

I know exactly what you are going threw! I have the same problem, and it just seems to be getting worse as time goes on. I have R/R, I think. But, when I talk to my Neurologist, he kinda laughts about it. He doesn't address the problems at all, he asks me if I'm depressed, or nervous. I have a second opion apointment in August. I'm kinda interested in what you find out, Good luck, wish I could say more.

I appreciate your response. It's always nice to hear people say they know what we're going through. Unless you have MS, you just don't get it! My Neuro emailed me and said that perhaps I can try Aricept or Namenda. I will see him next month and we will decide. Meanwhile I'm going to do some research on those two drugs...and try really hard to think clearly. ;-) I'm sorry your Neuro is unresponsive (in a positive way) but I hope the physician you see in August will be WAY BETTER. Blessings to you.

Studnets thought I was a mental moron! Now I am starting another job...GOD HELP ME full time nursing seeing 40 patients a day. I will be writting a great deal of notes. And I was NEVER the best of spellers.. Now words don't look right. My new job is going to think I am a moron for having a medical dictionary. And I mispronouse(see sp?) words all the time... HELP! I completely know what you are going through.....!!!!!

Singingsupernurse,
I am in the midst of a job search now and one of the things I'm concerned about is my new employers thinking I'm a moron!!!! Where I am now, they know me and they were here for me at diagnosis. They have been wonderful. I wonder if I can hang out there in the "real world"? UGH!!!! But I bet you are an awesome nurse so you will do great! :-)

I hope you are doing well. Found for me if I laugh at myself then people can't laugh at me. I changed jobs for awhile, but it was too stressful. I worked in a wound clinic. I got my numbers mixed up,like sent a call to 1500 instead of 5100 extension. Thanks for the great compliment, I appreciate it so much!
