I was diagnosed with MS in 1996. The medicine that my Neurologist suggested I take was Avonex.  I took it for 3 years. It was hell. My wife gave me the injection for about 2 years and a nurse gave it to me the remaining time. Not only was it taxing medically but emotionally and financially too. My family physician stopped me from using  Avonex because the side effects were killing me.  He said {they are trying to stop one but they are starting another disease”. So I’ve been treating just my aches and pains ever since. I always wondered if the Avonex worked? . Are we so busy fighting the side effects that we stopped thinking what the MS is doing to us? Anyways listen to this! I was skimming thru articles on MS as I do from do from time to time. I saw an article in the MSF magazine and it said  Inferon Beta May Not Slow down the Progression. In the article it states interfon beta or Avonex had little or no effect on the progression of ms. The trial was done by the Journal of American Medical Magazine. Again they stated that Avonex is practical useless. Wow that hurts and that makes me mad at same time. You mean I took Avonex for nothing? Please read this article tell what you think?
