Hi all. I'm going back to my Neurologist this Tuesday at request of my Rheumatologist for suspicion if MS due to many relatable symptoms. My question is what test did some you all have to finally diagnose MS?
I've had both a brain MRI and spinal MRI; however, neither were with dye. Is this necessary for this diagnosis?

Thanks for the feedback and I'm so glad to find this forum!

I was diagnosed after a neurological exam with abnormal reflexes and responses, a brain and a spinal MRI (lesions on both), clean blood work, a lumbar puncture that showed O bands, and positive evoked potentials. My blood work was clean of all health issues. My MRIs were without contrast.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Thank you for your reply. My spinal MRI has shown lesions, this was just done last month. I have had several abnormal neurological exams which have prompted further testing (and additional specialist). I've now gone full circle (and about 5 specialists and 12 yrs) back to the the neurologist who I was seeing on a regular basis for about 2-3 days a week sometimes during that time.

I will keep you all posted of my results next week after my appointment.

Stay healthy.

Try to see an MS specialist. I'm not impressed with a neurologist who you've seen on a extremely regular basis and he missed a possible MS diagnosis. MS is the most common neurological disease in North America in your age range.

Hopefully your financial house is in order and you have solid insurance. MS is very expensive.

Thanks for the advice. I will research my area for a MS specialist or ask for a referral if needed.
Interesting enough, this neurologist was a referral from another neurologist I was originally referred to a smaller facility.
