I am a 59 yr old male. Over the last 14 years or so I have been diagnosed with low thyroid, psoriasis, CFIDS, pre-Fibromyalgic, low functioning adrenals. about a year and a half ago I lost hearing in my left ear overnight, with no good explanation on what caused it. More recently I had an episode of losing normal sensation on the left side of my face. I have periodic 'eye pain/headache' associated with my left eye. I also have ongoing feeling of numbness that seems to be more left side, hands/feet. I also have a fairly recent issue with occasional stuttering. After thinking about the acute things that have happened...loss of hearing, eye pain and the left facial weirdness and stuttering coupled with multi year progression of auto immune problems...well, I am wondering if I may not be segueing in to MS. I would love to read your thoughts on this given what I have described. Peace and blessings

Have you looked into the possibilities of a mini-stroke or strokes that you may have had and not known about? The speech problem make me think about that. Also the HSV virus can cause deafness in rare instances. Good Luck and I hope you get some resolution to your health problems soon.

jeff Have you ever been tested for Lyme ? You symptoms are consistent with what some people with lyme are dealing with.

For 20 years I have had SLE but still have sick days even tho the Lupus is said to be in remission! I am wondering if all these symptoms are MS or Lyme. I get exhausted-wiped out (even after sleeping well at night) and lately get weird numb lips, buzzing chest feeling, trouble peeing, sore spot on scalp, vision not clear-blotchy spots here and there & then OK, tripping or clumsy(just cause I'm getting older?), constipation, migraines w/aura, depression, muscles aches and a malaise-sick all over feeling, foot cramps. I have gone to my PCP who said CFS, Fibro, and have gone to my Rheumat. who did a lot of tests and did not have much to say at all except that the tests were all negative-which is good but I still have no answers and I know this is not going away. It does go away for a few days but always comes back. Any ideas?

I have had the buzzing chest symptom.
We share a large number of symptoms. I am waiting for blood test results for Lyme Disease. My daughter tested positive for Lyme after I took her on a vacation to a region known to have active Lyme Disease.
Your post is 5 years old. I hope you are feeling better. Did you ever get a diagnoses? Does the buzzing and Lyme make any sense to you?
Thanks
Paul

Hi Jeff,
Your symptoms are similar to mine so you might want to look into antiphospholipid syndrome. about 10 or so years ago I developed sudden onset of dizziness and right sided facial weakness with loss of vision/double vision. However the symptoms resolved a few hours later in the ER waiting room. Then 5 years ago, after a night out binge drinking, I woke up feeling absolutely awful, dizzy, couldn’t get out of bed. I ended up getting up that night, vomiting, and then experiencing right sided paralysis. An ambulance was called and they diagnosed a cerebellar stroke. Apparently the problem is that I am developing antibodies to a clotting factor and diagnosed me with APS, which is apparently a mimic of MS. That being said, I’m still not convinced what I have.
