Gkuhs has relapsing remitting MS, lately he has fierce back pain (lower back) and his left leg goes numb. I am worried about my other half, and he is in so much pain. He is taking non-asprin around the clock, flexiral 10mg at bedtime. He has to use a can to walk and get up. We called the doctor and of course, had a rude nurse who wouldnt take the time or day to listen and said it wasn't a medical emergency. IDK but I think not walking and severe pain is an emergency. Of course, per blank insurance, unless the nurse says to go to hospital our insurance won't cover it. Do you guys have that those symtoms? Got ideas to help?

I am newly diagnosed, but I had numbness in my legs and it kept creeping up my body 6 months ago. I went to the doctor & new numbness is not a big deal without an MS diagnosis. The doctor thought I had a pinched nerve. When I saw my neurologist, he said that was the beginning of my first MS flare up. I didn't need a cane, but numbness is definatly a symptom of MS. That sounds like reason for a trip to the neurologist as he should probably get steroids to treat the symptoms.

Thank you Rangie! We decided to transfer his case to my neuro, whom knows a lot on MS. The downfall, his office is 350 miles away. We just got back from a week trip seeing the neuro, both of us. I failed miserably at mine, and he was put on prednisone, you are right it is a flare but neuro found a pinched nerve too. Neuro is awesome, he found so much with me, and really helped gkuhs. This prednisone is making it so much easier for him to get out of bed now.
