Hey all,

Newbie here and have a few questions. First a little about me. I'm 51 work nights in a factory. I have a uncle and aunt both on my moms side both with MS. I have suffered on and off from what I have thought to be GAD/Anxiety since my twenty's. Recently, I started feeling strange, really like I was in a fog and these feelings have been followed up with blurry vision and dizziness. What I'm trying to explain to my Doctor is that unlike when I was having panic attacks this does not go away. Before, I could either self medicate or just drink a beer and feel better...not anymore, I feel sorta drunk with out the party. Tonight my right eye is really hurting/burning. Also, last month I started running on the treadmill and I'm up to almost two miles, whats strange is when I'm running I don't feel so bad(although I may have over done it last night and my left leg is really sore)...I have other symptoms,(weak legs and arms, shortness of breath, fatique etc) but was wondering are these symptoms enough to have a MS test done and what is the best test to find out 100% sure I would have MS? Really tired of feeling like this...Thanks in advance.

Thanks,
CJ

CJ,

I'd STRONGLY suggest you remove your email from public view. You are leaving yourself vulnerable to all sorts of trouble. Put your email in your profile. Then you are only available to other members. That's a much safer way.

The usual tests for MS are brain MRI, evoked potentials of extremities, vision and hearing, a lumbar puncture, blood work and a thorough neurological exam by an MS neurologist. There is no one test for MS. MS shares symptoms with Lyme disease, Parkinson's, fibromyalgia, lupus and many more.

You may want to post and ask questions on those boards as well. I can really only help with MS symptoms. I do hope you are able to get answers soon! Ask any MS questions you may have here. Best of luck!!
