I will be starting on 20mg Copaxone injections on the 25th...just wondering....anyone taking Copaxone have an impaired immune system because of it? Do you feel like you get sick more often that you did before taking it? Just checking since it says it can impair it. thanks!

No. I am a public school teacher of elementary school children. I am never sick. It has not changed my immunity to common illnesses at all.
Diagnosed with MS July 2006

I have no lesions on my soul and so I live with no limits.

I was going to start Copaxone as my DMD of choice, but went with the abx route and doing much better. Copaxone is made from 4 amino acids so it really doesn't reduce your immune system, rather it creates a decoy for MS to attack the amino acids instead.

When I considered Copaxone, Minocycline and LDN both consistently came up to treat the side effects. I would research on your own to find out more, because I negated the entire MS DMD treatment. The makers DO NOT even know how Copaxone truly works.
08/12 - LabCorp WB Lyme positive for bands 23/41, but CDC negative
12/12 - Diagnosed with Remit/Relapse MS (lesions and sensory numbness)
10/13 - Igenex/CDC Lyme Positive - 23-25, 31+++, 34, 39, 41+++, 83-93

I've been taking Copaxone for about 2 months, and I recently caught 2 nasty infections, which I don't usually get. I am concerned about my immune system, and will be checking this with my doctor.
