Does anyone else have problem of becoming hot while they sleep? I freeze all day & am cold when first get in bed but every night wake up hot and the numbness drastically increases on my left side....to point I have to pick up my left arm by using my right and throwing my left arm so hangs off bed hoping for the numbness to decrease. This is not a hot flash (not going through menopause). It is EVERY night even when have ceiling fan on in middle of winter. Is this just me???? It's also not my sleeping position....it happens whether I'm on side, stomach, etc.

I have had this my whole life. I don't feel cold during the day, but for some reason I sweat my butt off when I sleep. I often wake up drenched in sweat and will even have to change the bed sheets. It doesn't seem to have any effect on my symptoms however. Now if I don't get enough sleep, then yes--my symptoms do worsen. But as long as I get back to sleep, my symptoms stay the same. I wish I had a cure for you--I know how much this sucks. The only thing that seems to work at all for me is to take a cocktail of sleeping meds. I'm on Seroquel (which helps me sleep), I also take two Tylenol PMs and two Benadryl every night. Since I've started that, I have slept better and the sweating has lessened too. I was taking Ambien (which did seem to work okay), but he Seroquel works better for me--plus it isn't as addictive as Ambien.

Thanks Bad Mojo...that's interesting. I'm not sure if I wake up because of needing all covers off or because I go to change position and my left arm is completely dead and can't control it. My left side has constant varying degrees of numbness but the completely dead feeling is only at night when I'm too hot. I'm guessing sleeping meds would knock me out to where I sleep through it but not sure if I would know if it helped keep my body temp from rising. May have to try it though....thanks 😊

Voodoodoll,

Just wondering...are you falling asleep in a position that restricts blood flow to your left arm? That could cause the "totally dead" feeling you describe.

I don't think so....sometimes I wake up on my stomach with my arms to my sides and the left arm is completely numb.
