Hello I have been reading peoples story's and questions on this for a month now.

I have SO MANY of your symptoms. I'm a 48 year old and my story is: ( VERY LONG Sorry )

Since 2004 I have had several issues, 1st was Severe sleep apnea Dx, then Blood clots in both legs in 2005, then dx'd with Hypo thyroid, in 05, I was feeling pretty good for about a two year span from "07" to "09"
except constant issues with my legs. feeling very tired and swelling.

In "09" I started having issues, when I moved from MI to AZ. I started to get sick a lot and had kidney stones, Dx Hashimoto Disease
In 2011 I had a 13" colon removal from severe Diverticulitis! then 2012 I had to have a Full Hysterectomy ( Da Vinci robot ) less aggressive method ?

I was to go home the following day Well that did not happen, turns out the DR. perforated my Bowel.

It was 3 weeks of ICU. Respiratory failure, Sepsis and Induced coma.

( fast forward )

My Dad's mom died from MS back in the 50's ? any way, I have read it could be hereditary, also could carry the gene and it could lye dormant but a huge trauma to your body can activate it.

since 2012 my issues really started. Major fatigue, respiratory issues, Numbness in hands, legs.
Chronic pain, all over, it feels like my body is in a Warp.
My nerves feel like there in over drive all day.

Vertigo, abnormal gait, Severe weakness, blurred vision, shooting pain, and stiffness, Dx'd with fibromyalgia.

October 2014 I started having tremors, now really bad, I have good days but mostly bad. it effects my voice.

My Primary said she thought it was PD, but my Neuro said NO.
I've had EMG testing, no damages Car pol tunnel .
I had a MRI and Dr. seen white spots in the front ( he thinks. it's from the Fibro.)
On the 28th I go in for Lumbar Puncture.

Help!!!! anyone who has MS did you or do you have this issue ????

P.S. I know I missed a lot of my issue's but gave the Primary info. LOL

Hi there. Sorry to hear about the limbo you are going through. Please keep in mind that no two cases of MS are identical.

Although there have been great medical breakthroughs with the pathology and treatment, the reality about auto immune diseases is that not much is known about them - even today.

What we do know about MS is;

There are roughly 140 known genes directly associated with MS. If you are lucky enough to have one or more of these genes in your genetic make up you have a chance of contracting MS. You are probably wondering why i used the word contracting? Here is why - Since we do know that one must have these genes present for MS to manifest the hypothesis is that genetics are can not be enough to bring on the onset of the disease. So, there must be a trigger. Whether it's viral, bacterial, or environmental we do not know. Mainly because there are way too many variables. Take for instance identical twins. They share the exact same DNA yet only one will get the disease in their life time therefore it can not just simply be genetic make up.

Don't quote me on these statistics as its been a while since i've reviewed them but if you had a parent that had MS you run a 5% greater risk factor. If both parents had it its roughly 12-15% greater chance. If a sibling has it you have a 30% greater risk. If you had Mononucleosis from the age of 12-20 you run a 4x times greater risk than the average Joe. If you had the mumps before the age of 10 you are practically immune to the disease.

Your symptoms sound like MS, but they also sound like many other diseases.

One thing that caught my eye is that you said you had blood clots at one point in your life? Not knowing your lifestyle but presuming your are average and were not bed ridden one other disease that is a differential diagnoses for MS is Antiphospholipid syndrome.

Hello Chris,
Thank you for your Reply. The answer to your Question regarding the Blood clots.

No! I was not Bed ridden, in fact I worked with my spouse at that time. He owned a carpet cleaning company, and I was very active.
My two sisters both have Fibromyalgia, and Not one of them have had any of my issues. Except the Chronic pain.

I tease my Mom and ask her what drugs was she on with me. LOL I was the one who was Always sick growing up, I had issues with being dizzy and light headed But never thought much about it. I don't know if it is a factor for now.? Oh and when my daughter was in Elem. school I contracted Slap cheek disease.?
I was So sick, for about 2 weeks. but I don't know. I Pray to have some answers Soon.
