I have been at a loss and not sure where to go next.

It all started when I was 38 weeks pregnant. I got weird vision out of my left eye for about 15 mins and then got better. Then my lips went numb/tingly along with my left 3 fingers. Went to hospital and they only did blood work checking for preeclampsia. The numbness/tingling never went away and had after my son and then 6 weeks postpartum it got worse where it was widespread. Both feet, hands, entire face, lips and tongue. Very dizzy at times. Sweating at night. I have been to my PCP and had tons of labs done. Thyroid, vitamin d, vitamin b, all normal. No anemia. I had MRI brain and MRA neck negative. Saw neuro who dismissed my symptoms and said to follow up in 3 months (which my follow up is next week). It is now causing burning pain in my feet and hands at times. It feels like there is an electric current running through my legs. My PCP keeps telling me this is anxiety even though I don't feel anxious and this whole time I have though it sounded like MS. Everyone tells me no. My son is now 4 months. I'm feeling like I'm crazy and like my life will be like this forever with no answers.

Hi. I'm sorry you're experiencing this. Seems like you have an aggressive Doctor. You've had lots of tests. You most likely won't receive a diagnosis of MS with a clean MRI. Brain lesions are the hallmark of the disease. On very rare occasions, brain lesions are too small to show up or show up a few months later. Many doctors will take a wait and watch approach.

At your follow up, you can ask for a new MRI. Make sure you received a copy of your first one with the written report for your own files. This is now your baseline and all new MRIs will be compared to that one. You can also ask for a second opinion. You may want to opt for a neurologist who is an MS specialist.
Diagnosed with MS July 2006

I have no lesions on my soul and so I live with no limits.

I just want to let you know you are not alone! I feel for you, although luckily I have a neuro that is not giving up and is determined to find the root of all of my symptoms! The best advise I can give is be your own advocate, you know your body and if you are not satisfied with your first neuro get a second opinion. Hang in there, this site is a wealth of information and support. Keep us posted on how you are doing!

Look into lyme disease. I have the whole face numbness too. Does your electrical current feel like an internal vibration or buzzing at times? That is how I describe mine.

Regular docs only order the two-tier testing which is very inaccurate about 2/3 of the time. The best lab to order lyme test at the moment is the western blot from IgeneX. I would research especially since your MRI was clear.

It is well known that stressful events can trigger lyme disease. These can be birth, death, surgery, job loss, etc.
