Hey all--

I am checking to see what you guys use for severe fatigue. It's so bad that I feel run down and a simple shopping trip to Trader Joes for $40 worth of groceries leaves me winded and gripping the checkout stand.

What do you guys use for fatigue? It seems far worse this year and is coupled with pain as well. JOY!

We had a unseasonably cooler August and the heat and humidity are back with a passion. I am not sure I can make it till mid November. sigh. I am in Louisiana.

Thanks!

There are medications that can be tried for fatigue:
- Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD/ADHD) medications ---- Ritalin, Adderall, etc.
- Provigil
- Nuvigil
- Amantadine (anti-viral medication) --- It's an older medication that has shown to be helpful with fatigue, but isn't prescribed as much as it once was. The other medications mentioned above are usually the first ones tried.

Non-medication options:
- Exercise ---- this has been shown to help fatigue as well as improve mobility/endurance, pain, balance and spasticity.
- Naps and resting --- sometimes that's the only thing that will help.

I have tried the majority of medications used for fatigue. I am unable to use any of them for fatigue so my options are the non-medication ones.
