I've had 4 episodes of facial pain in the past 7 months or so. The doc just diagnosed me with Trigeminal Neuralgia. He did a full neurological exam and everything was fine. Other than some occasional mild vertigo and some episodes of extreme fatigue (which is such a broad symptom), I've been fine. I do have Ulcerative Colitis, but he said there's no link between UC & trigeminal neuralgia. He did however mention that sometimes it can be a symptom of MS. It really shocked me, since I've never even thought of that before. He gave me a referral to a neurologist and ordered a Brain MRI. Anyone with MS experience TN as an early symptom of MS?

Thanks in advance !

I am guessing this is your PCP that has given you the TN diagnosis? There are two types of TN, a good neurologist should be able to give you a proper dx of which type it is. I wouldn't let myself get too worked, first you need to make sure you were given a correct diagnosis by your PCP. MS can be very difficult to diagnose, it a process of elimination of other conditions.

I suggest that you go to the Mayo Clinic's website & read about TN. Good luck with your pending appt.

Good morning,

I am here on this board looking for help for my friend with MS.

I have TN and it is directly associated with my lyme disease. Have you ever been PROPERLY tested for lyme? It is very tough to be properly diagnosed with as the medical community and testing are greatly flawed. I have neurological lyme as does my husband and have scarring on my brain from such. I take baclofen for the TN.
Fatigue could also be from lyme.

All the best to you. Hit me up with any questions or check out the lyme board on here. Its fantastic.
