As I've mentioned before, the first neurologist I went to dismissed me and my multitude of weird symptoms after my brain MRI came back negative. Since then, I've been trying to find a neurologist who might have the patience and knowledge to work with me in finding out what is going on.
I found information on one neurologist who I'm going to see on Wednesday. She was recommended on another MS board as being good with MS patients.
Through my research, I also found another neurologist who works almost exclusively with MS patients. In fact, she's the head of the MS clinic here in my city. When I called to schedule an appointment, the medical assistant told me that this doctor will only agree to see a patient if, after reviewing all of their records and symptoms, she thinks they have MS and she can help them.
So I faxed my records from the first neurologist, my MRI and other test results, and a symptoms list to this MS specialist last week. Today I heard back from her office that she does want to see me. The only problem is, the earliest appointment they could get me in is October 25! I figure I'll either be better or dead by then (just kidding!)
Anyway, I'm going to go ahead to my appointment with the second neurologist on Wednesday and see what she says. Then, if necessary, I'll keep my appointment with the MS specialist in October (or sooner if they have a cancellation.)
I'm just hoping and praying that one of these doctors can help me!
