I do have MS since 1993 and have recently had a continuing problem with spasms/tremors so...

My right calf has been stiffening up quite often lately. You can clearly see the difference in size from my right one. I thought maybe it is water retention, but I really think it is spasticity. It makes me walk a little funny, like my knee gives out quick?

Also, I picked my son up this morning and I thought my legs were going to crumble. Just a very weak feeling I get sometimes that does go away within a minute. Any of thes sound familair?

Hi Jena,
It does sound like spasticity, are you on any meds for that?  You need to let your neuro know and he can prescribe baclofen for that.  Baclofen really helps with spasticity.  I have spasticity in my right foot and leg and it is quite irritating!

take care, let us know how it goes!

Sounds like spasticity, and a "broken connection" between brain and knee. That used to happen to me a lot -- I'd be standing there, perfectly normally, perfectly relaxed..and my knee would "give out" under me. Most disconcerting.

Thank you Ladies :) So, the swelling is normal? I am already on Zanaflex and Baclofen 3x a day for both. Even though I believe I am on the lowest dosage of both, I would think being on both of those, I would not have any spasticity, or it that a silly thought? lol. Especialy when I really do not have it that bad in my opinion. Do you guys still get spasms even being on meds?
