Hi all, some of you may remember I have more cognitive problems with ms than I do physical
problems.  After the neuro psych test I was told I can't drive.  I am also having problems at work getting confused on how to do things I always did and on new thngs as well.  Has any one everheard of some one who had to quit work because of congnitive not physical.  I also wonder how how bad the cognitive gets.  I am so afraid I will get so bad I will be total nut. I guess I am just rambling. I don't know of anyone having to stop work because of confusion and still be pretty mobile..  Thanks LInda

Hi Linda,
Refresh my memory...are you on any of the MS meds?  I do know the cognitive stuff can be one of the only symptoms of MS.  I am sorry yours is getting so bad.  I worry about my own, my husband is sad about my memory loss and my loss of being able to multi-task becasue i used to be the "glue" of the family!
Did the phsychiatrist who did your testing offer any help like occupational therapy or cognitive therapy?  I've heard they help.  Also, Aricept is being used in mS patients, has your neuro addressed all this?
I've always read the MS cognitive issues never get as bad as like Alzheimers etc...  I hope you get some answers from your doc, be sure to ask questions! :-) Take care!

Hi Linda,

I'm sorry your cognitive problems are effecting your working. Cognitive problems and fatigue can keep people from working but as Michelle said cognitive therapy might be of some benefit to you to help improve memory. They use a combination of memory exercises and teach techniques that allow you to compensate for the problems you are facing. I do hope it gets better for you, let us know what your doctor says.
