Thanks for saying that your LP wasnt painful! I have one scheduled for Nov 2, and was nervous about it.. I have an evoked potential test this friday. Do you get evoked potential results right away??

When i had the revoked potential done, the tech who did it said the results would be in that day. but it was almost two weeks before they were written up and the doctor read them. Good luck with the Lp. Don't let anyone scare you about it. It's not that bad. You may feel a jab with the novicaine shot but the procedure is not painful. I felt uncomfortable and kinda sick from the pressure i felt on my back. But it went alot better than what i was expecting. Just make sure you stay down and take it easy. I didn't as much as i should have and my back was so sore and achy for a couple of days, didn't get the headache though.

I think my evoked potential tests took about a week. I actually got copies from my PCP before I heard from the neurologist.

about the LP, I've heard stories on both sides of the fence - some with bad experiences, others with good. I guess it's just a matter of individuality. Personally, I think that was probably the easiest test I've ever had. Lying flat on my back all day was far worse than the procedure itself. I'd rather have a thousand LPs rather than just one MRI! (I have claustrophobia - caused by my first MRI.)
