I called my YMCA today and will be starting an exercise program next week. I am wondering if there is anything I should be careful about doing. I know not to push myself too hard or get overheated. Is there anything else?

Thanks,

Lysha

Hi Lysha,

Good for you!  Aside from the overheating and overdoing it, just listen to your what your body says to you and you will know if something is not a good idea.  Wear light clothing and if you have balance issues you may want to avoid activities that might effect that.  Swimming is an excellent choice if a pool is available!  Most importantly enjoy yourself and have fun :-)

Very good afternoon, Lyesha:

Have you (or anyone else) ever heard of the Heuga Center, headquartered in Edwards CO?

It is a fabulous, fabulous 4 & 1/2 day program for MS patients, and it stresses very mild and effective exercise for MS patients.

It is a more than fabulous program focusing on mild but effective exercise.

They have a full staff of medical proffessionals, from a neuro, to a nutritionist, and number of exercise phisiologists.

I highly, highly encouage everyone to check it out.

Aside from marrying my incredible wife, it is the best thing I have done post MS diagnosis.

I start Thursday and will let you know if I have any problems.

Lyesha:

Why do I think a 3 year old is a  full-time workout program?
