I am a new member. I've had ms over 17 years and have experienced about every symptom in the generic ms description.  I do now have the use of my hands and sight for which I am thankful, most of the time.  The past few weeks for some reason, probably the upcoming holidays I've felt sorry for myself which is the reason I have joined just to vent!
Watching anyone walk on both legs and carry something in both hands-all at once!!! just amazes me.  I've always accepted my limitations though lately I notice a well person and compare myself to what I have lost.  It is heartbreaking.  Mentally I feel like a moth bouncing off of a flame and just cannot seem to get 100% back to my positive attitude.
Guess we all go through this though we forget how bad we can feel when we're feeling 'good'.

Hi frannie!

I'm so glad you joined, feel free to vent anytime you need..that's why we are here!   Talking to people who have similar problems and can understand what you are going through can make a world of difference.  I hope you get back to your ole self here real soon!  Do you have any hobbies or anything you particularly enjoy doing to take your mind off things?  Maybe a day focused on yourself might remind you how special you are!  Take care and please come back and let us know how you are doing.

i took up watercolor painting last spring and found it's the best-and rewarding-therapy i've ever had.  hope more can discover it!

Frannie,

I crochet a lot. I pretty much only use one main stich so I can almost do it with out looking at it. Your right it is great therapy to have a hobby. Come complain about you lot in life anytime your feeling down. If you keep your feelings in you'll get depressed and that doesn't help anybody.

Hi there and welcome,  i crochet too, sort of, hehe i try to get a patter for something easy, and attempt to do it, get myself confused and just start switching it up.  I made 3 scarfs for my sisters in law and mother in law.  They turned out ok, I hope.

Today made some peanut brittle, which was a first for me, made one batch and decided to make another one.  Some of our family will be getting that and home made caramels (not made yet), for christmas.

So are you on any meds for the MS? Im on copaxone, Just dx'd the end of sept, but mom was dx'd about 10 yrs ago, only have 5 more days of my second month.  So far so good.  Sat I couldnt do the shot on my thigh, the needle bounced.  I said honey, do this i can do it today.  Next day for my stomach shot, lickety split, and i was done.

Welcome again, its a great site, helped me tremendously.

hi cyndi,  i grew up crocheting and now it either doesn't catch my attetion or my hands are no so agile.  i took up watercolor painting this summer and is the most rewarding therapy i've ever had.  i'm hooked on it tho have not been able to attend any classes just meet w/a group or have the 'paint-out here when i'm not mobile.  total investment to start w/beginners kit is under $20.00 and worth every penny.  i'm in a wheelchair and cannot bake/cook any longer so am very happy to give out my paintings for xmas as it's been years since i could contiibute.

no, i do not take any meds at all.  2x i was hospitalised for delium comas due to neurologist prescribed rx.  i do take 1000mg vit e for menapause but thats all.  i have 8 years of true amnesia from rx so i'd rather tough it out.

yes, just joined this forum?-and found it is a lifesaver, well sanity saver! haha.  ty for replying-i feel like i am finding a whole new family.  frannie :-)
