Hi Everyone!

The nurse just called me and said on the preliminary notes everything came back normal. Yay!  yeah Although the doctor has not looked everything over, she just knows that I have been worrying about it for the last 3 weeks, so she wanted to give me some good news.

I then asked her to ask the dr about the location of the lesions and the cognitive issues I'm having.  She said she will be calling me back tomorrow with the official word.  Thank you all for your support and I'll keep you all informed.

Just got a call back from the Dr office - I have another appt on Thursday to talk about the lesions and where we go from here.  I love my neuro, she's great.

Thanks all!

I was happy to here the normal results, but I knew that didn't mean I was out of the fire (which my right butt cheek is on fire right now, how appropriate, everyone else has it on a normal place, their face, but no I have the burning sensation on one butt cheek and back thigh, I always thought it was dry skin and lathered and lathered until my skin was softer than a baby's butt, but the burning sensation stayed only for a day or so and then it's gone).

Michelle - Are there any questions that you could suggest I ask my neuro since your LP came back normal too? Do you mind me asking how old you are?

I have a positve MRI and minor symptoms at this point. My major thing right now is that I can not think, I have not been able to think properly for the last 9 - 12 months. I'm unable to carry on conversations, and form words which I can see in my head, but they don't come out right... I have not had complete paralysis of anything, the most numbness I have had is the whole right side of my face for an hour or so and then it will come back and then leave again (kind of like an off/on switch) for the whole day or a couple days, same with my right leg and foot and hand. The burning sensation on my skin on my butt cheek and back of thigh. Off and on sharp rectal pain. Lower extremity weakness and lower and upper extremity heaviness. Probable MS hug goes on for about a day to a day and 1/2, then won't come back for a couple weeks. Right hand will freeze up on me about once every other month for about 2-3 minutes. Lower leg tremors. Extreme fatigue started about 9 months ago.

I just thought maybe with you knowing a little more of what I have, you might be able to say hey, ask your dr about this.... If not, no biggie, thanks anyways.

Denda, Congrats on your LP :-) I spoke to you on the migraine board before.  I have to go to the neuro tomorrow for a follow-up, I think she's probably going to recommend the LP.  My brain and C-spine were normal, except for the bulging disk.  I don't know whether to go through with it or not?  What will they do, put me in limbo land probably, even if it is positive I'll have to show lesions on the MRI to be diagnosed, right?  And from what I read there is nothing that takes the weird bug crawling, burning sensations that I have away, even the injections that they give after diagnosis.  I don't know what to do.  I guess we'll wait til tomorrow and see.  Did you have any evoked testing done?  I was going to ask her about this also.  Anyways, CONGRATS!!!!! yeah Jen

Thanks Carla & Jen!

Jen - No, I haven't had the evoked testing. I think I will ask for that. Why the c-spine mri? My neuro didn't have me do one of those. Did you have specific reasons for the c-spine? If the evoke testing comes back OK, I guess I just sit back and wait for something major to happen or not happen. Again maybe my neuro will say the location of the lesions is the key. I'll report back. Thanks to you all.

Hi Denda,
I don't know exactly what you need to ask your doc but if he says he doesn't think it's MS just based on the negative LP then he needs to explain why.  My neuro's (2 of them) said that the lesions I had were highly probable for mS and then my symptoms I have had on & off for several years, added up to the diagnosis.  I am 42 and was diagnosed in 2005. My neuro's are ms specialists and they both believe in early treatment and I also know they believe in it even if it's just "highly probable" and not exact.

By the way, because my ms seems to be on a slow but steady decline I have been told I'm in secondary progressive.

I wish you good luck with all this and hope you feel good with the docs responses.  Take care.

Thanks Michelle!

I appreciate your help. My neuro usually is very thorough, the nurse is the one who told me it was normal w/o the doctor's input. I jumped on it and I think when the nurse went to ask the Dr about the lesions, the Dr would have rather sit down face to face to talk about all of it. So I'm starting to make my list like I did the last time and we'll go through everything. Thanks again for your time.
