My husband is going to call our PCP Monday and insist on an appointment with Mayo Clinic.  I just hope our insurance covers it, but if it does or doesn't, we have to get some answers.

I need to go back to work Monday, but am not sure if I'll be able to walk well enough to get around.  My legs are still extremely weak right now, and the nausea and dizziness continue.  But I've been out since Tuesday afternoon, and I'm the only professor who teaches the subjects I teach, so there are no substitutes available to cover my classes.  I have to get back to work.  I just have to!

Oh, and the second Valium I took this morning isn't doing much either.  I guess the goal is just to make me so sedated that I don't care if I'm sick or not.  Nice try - but when you can't walk, you DO have a tendency to care!

Actually a lot of the drugs like Valium while they are "sedatives" also are enormously helpful with pain relief, and can sometimes help with nausea. Not always, of course -- and apparently not in your situation -- but they do help a lot of people.

Hey Lisa

Best wishes on the appt!! I hope u'r husband is sucessful and u'll be able to get in soon. Please let us know how that goes. I'm sorry the valium isn't helping. Have u called the doc to report? As for u'r going back to work, u may just have to take it one day at a time and if by Tues u can't, then u can't. Don't push to do something that'll only make things worse for u. Please let us know how u'r doing and how the appt status goes. I'll keep u in my prayers.
