Thank you for your replies, Uppitycats....you seem like a pretty smart guy!!
Sometimes it seems as though you need to knock the doctors over the head with a two-by-four to get their attention. I think many of them become so jaded and blase about everything that it is difficult for them to see each of us as a new, fresh case just waiting to be cracked!!! Each person and their boring ailments just kinda blend into the next guy's.
Incidentally, I live in the U.S., am outside several hours per day (fieldwork), and consume tons of dairy products. My doctor was so surprised by the Vitamin D results that she had them run again---first time was 18.8---second was 10!!! They can't believe it, either. Obviously an absorption problem of some kind there.
I am not embarrassed about being on antidepressants (which I have taken for years), but am surprised at my Doc's recommendation for an anti-psychotic. I think her rationale was to get me to stay in bed--she knows me well enough to know I won't unless I have no choice. Believe me, this drug is certainly doing the job!!
Thanks again, Uppity for your advice and reassurance.
