I have quite a few symptoms which have develpoed for the last 18 months. I have twitches from muscles all over there is no patternt to when they appear just as and when. You can see not just feel them twitch. Also have a lot of night cramps in my left leg calf hand shakes quite often a lot, sometimes its when I actually pick something like a cup upand sometimes its when I reach out to pick somethin up also when I try to hold my hand out my hand shakes and fingers twitch. this is always my right hand and once again just as and when. I have always had a good memory but is terrible now I forget things very very quickly, I also find it very difficult to concentrate on thins and trying to retain information is nearly imposible. I also am tired all the time evn with good nights sleep, I just cant be bothered to do anything and I was always a very active person. I quite often get pins and neddles and numbess in my right hand. I sometimes have difficulty trying to say things, they are on the tip of my tongue but cant get them out and have also started to stutter quite a bit and mix up my words. I sometimes get blurred vision. The other night I was in my sitting room and my friend was sat accross the room we only had a side light on but my friend was very clear to see then suddenly he was very dim as if the light had gone right down although the light was next to me after 20 mins or so that was all ok. I Fistly went to my doctors about 14 months ago who sent me to see a nurologist who did some blood test but all was ok. I have now returned to my doctors who has done more blood test and said all ok there and has tried tablets for my cramps and beta blockers for the shakes, But none of this has done anything he has now refered me to see a nurologist again and am waiting an appointment and I know how long this could take to come through. I would be most grateful for any comments in relation to this. I forgot to mention that I am male 45 years old and otherwise fit and well other than arthritus in my left knee and had 2 dvt's in my left leg behind my knee. Oh and forgot to mention at the same time as all this started I sem to have what is called restless leg my left leg feels like jelly and jumps around but only when I am at rest. mostly when lying on the setee wathing tv.Well it now feels like I have wrote a book so time for me to sit back rst and await any comments.

Hey Marshall!

Welcome to the board!! I"m glad u've found us and hope u'll find this is a supportive and helpful place for u. Wow...reading u'r experiences is like telling my own story for the most part. I have almost all the symptoms u list or have had them over time. I've been having probs for a little over a year and still no diagnosis. As u said, this can take quite a while. For u and me, this may or may not be ms. There are so many neurological probs that can cause these symptoms and it's so hard to determine which is could be given the nature of the nervous system...very hard to pin things down. One thing u mentioned that sticks out to me is u'r legs and them jumping and feeling like jello. That's SO ME!! I was dx'd with Restless Leg Syndrom and now take Requip. That could be a helpful med for u. In addition to that, when the pain is just too much, i also use Neurontin. It's wonderful! As for the twitches and muscles jumping all over...that may be neuropathy. Neuropathy is a disorder of the nervous system, but not part of the CENTRAL nervous system. That means it may not be ms if it's that. Just a suggestion. Many of the symptoms u list are symptoms of ms, but as i said before, can be many other things. U may want to google 'ms mimics' or 'ms differential diagnosis' and take a look at the other possibilities. U mentioned having blood work done at both doc visits. What blood tests were done? Were any other tests done?? MRI's or spinal tap or anything else? Did the doc do any in office exams like having u walk heel to toe or stand with u'r eyes closed?? Those are some typical tests done to determine quickly whether u may have some deficits. Keep pushing on to find an answer, but try not to dwell on it too much. Believe me, it can and will consume u if u give it too much time. In the meantime a helpful idea may be to gather all u'r med records to date that deal with this. The test result copies and and any mri films u may have had done. Also, u have a good grasp on u'r history...on how this has progressed. Write it all out and begin keeping a journal to log the things that happen that're maybe different or new. Note the duration and severity. This'll give u and u'r doc a look at how things are progressing for u.

Also, we have live chats on Monday's at 6:00pm (cst). We'd love to have u join us! Take care and again, welcome to the board!
