I have had a long week.  sad After 2 appt.s with my uro and internal med docs they both called my GI doc about all this constipation/nausea stuff.  They both say that it is my upper intestines that are functioning the least and it has to be corrected.  My uro mentioned the possiblity of having my large intestine removed again.

The gi doc wants me to have a gastric pacer with the trial of it first but my insurance will not ok it until they have reveiwed it thoroughly so who knows how long that will take and what they will decide in the end! confused   His office wanted to send me to a pain management doc in the mean time but that is not for me.  It will not correct my nausea/constipation/gut malfunction  and my uro agrees.

I will see my neuro Tues. and tell her about all of this.  I have such a long list!  It seems things will never end.

I do have a question for all of you, do you have trouble using a knife and fork to cut?  My hubby and I had steak the other night (I don't eat much meat) and I was so uncoordinated trying to cut it, I was embarrassed, my hubby asked if he should cut it for me!

You all take care and I'll try to keep you updated. :-)

Hi Michelle,

I do hope all of this gets resolved for you, please keep us updated on what your neuro says and what they decide on the gastric pacer.  Big hugs!!! I know you're going through a lot right now.

about the knife and fork question, yes Mike has that problem too sometimes.  He found it embarrassing too at first, especially in restaurants, but now if he has trouble he just hands me his plate.  He likes his steak far too much to not order it tongue At home we don't eat a lot of steak, but if we do I'll make a roast or something and slow cook it so its nice and tender to make it easier for him.  Don't worry about it, going out is a nice treat and it seems your hubby is willing to help out with this issue.

Good luck with everything, please let us know what the neuro says on Tuesday!

Hey Michelle

Boy, what a place to find u'rself. I wish there was something i could do to help u or carry some of the load for u friend. U do have a lot to consider and i pray all this will be resolved very soon for u. The gastric pacer does sound interesting, but i'm concerned for u to do this so soon after the other implant. So much healing already trying to take place, but on the other hand, if it'll help the overall pic it'd be worth it. At least trying the trial would be a good idea. U know, ins sometimes stinks! I can attest to that first hand, but u know, u just have to do what makes sense for u. If they cover it they do, if not u'r still on the winning end because u get the treatment u need. In the end they will bill u and will just have to wait for payment. The most important part is u are taken care of.

Don't worry about the steak thing. It'd look like a sweet hubby taking care of his girl! If it bothers u...just come down here where i'm at...no one knows u and i'd love it!! ;)
