Hi ,
I just wanted to say hi to ya'll,  I have been reading the posts for some time now but finally registerd so I could say Hi.  I have been dx since July 06 but they tell me that I have had it a long time [I thought my legs were tired]. I am living in Melbourne Australia but I am from Atlanta Ga, I just started Rebif this week but have not had a major problem except for the pain in the bottom of my feet 24/7.  I look forward to getting to know you and learning some more about M/S.

Hey Allan,

Welcome aboard.  Thanks for posting.  We hope you find fun, friendship and support here.  There are a ton of great people here.  Good luck with the Rebif and keep us posted.  I maybe be switching to that so tell me all you can about it.  Australia, wow!!!!!  I visited the Gold Coast several years ago and just loved it.

Pain in your feet doesn't sound fun.  Get on that doctor to get some relief for yourself.

Take care,

Love and prayers,

Hi Allan,
Australia wow, I've always wanted to go there.  Welcome to the board, and I'm so happy that you decided to introduce yourself.   Please make yourself at home here.  Interesting about your feet, my husband has similar issues.  When you feel more comfortable maybe you can elaborate on that a bit.  Wishing you the best of luck with Rebif!

Thanks for the Welcomes,  Those that want to know how I got here ,  To make a very long story short I asked my wife if she wanted to go live in Australia, she looks at me with this big grin on her face and says oooook.   I told her that I had just throwed my name in the hat for a job in Australia , well the next day they called me, that was Nov o5 just before thanks giving, they flew me out Feb 06 and the end of April I was here living and working.   Then May the 17th 06 my feet went numb and legs too.    I need to go so I will write more later

Hi Allan,

Good to see another Aussie online - I live in Queensland and have recently been diagnosed. What part of this great land are you in. I started Betaferon a couple of weeks ago and am doing okay. Found it hard to press the trigger the first time but it is much easier now. Although I haven't made many postings I have gained a great deal of support and reassurance from reading postings on this site. It's like having a group hug. My husband says "we are in this together" how is your wife doing?

Hi guys   I just learned a leason about having m.s ,not every pain is from it.   I have been having leg cramps that would not go away ,all the streches that i could do would not help.   Well the pain became so bad Friday that I went down to the ER to get check out,  they ran a couple of test and then did an ultra sound of the leg and found blood clots in the thigh and the caf.  The Doc said it could take 3 months to get rid of them.  I have had to go off my M.S drugs until this has gone away due to mixing them made me feel like I has going to die .or should I say they made me wish I was dead.  I had thought that pain was from the effects of M.S for about 6 weeks,  if I had waited much longer it could have caused alot more damage than just pain they tell me.
Anyway I hope too learn a few of these leasons before they happen now that I have some of you to fall back on for question, HI Kas thanks for the welcome and you to Sunny, I gave the short version on how we came to Australia, I said nothing about fighting with my 11 year old son or about the immagration problems or my wifes  parents.  But in the end it was a chance to live outside of the states and see the world from a new angle, also i told my son that there was a 5 girls to one boy so that increased his odds.

I hope you improve quickly and get back on the MS drugs. This is one of the fears I have about the MS - that I will blame every pain on having it. We can all learn from your experience. I have always wanted to visit Australia. Get well soon!
