I'm currently having problems with double vision, but not in the typical sense. Mine involves only words that I'm reading.

For instance, I was looking at our on-screen TV guide last night, and I was seeing what looked like a shadow of each letter a little above and behind the original letter. I asked my husband if he saw it too, but he didn't know what I was talking about. Then I noticed that this is happening with every word I see, either on signs, TV, books, plastic bags, boxes, my computer, etc. Everything else looks fine though, no doubling of anything else, just words.

Has anyone ever had a problem like this? What could be causing it?

Hi lisa,
I have had a similiar issue but it happened with the computer screen. The opthamologist says it's something related to the mS but I can't remember what she called it.....sorry. Sometimes when I'm looking at a doorway or a straight line in the wall it gets wavey and they said that is part of whatever this is I have. She said it's not optic neuritis and that sometimes it is caused by migraines but mine wasn't.

I hope you get into see an eye doc and let them know. Take good care.

Hey Lisa

Well i'm not sure this will help, but i have something odd. I will see things jump. Not all the time, but hre and there. It's like u take a cookie cutter and cut part of a pic out..and that just jumps up or down a bit...then it's ok. I've been told by a sweet, dear friend to see an eye doc, but keep forgetting...til it happens again. I hope u'rs gets better and is nothing bad, but i'd suggest u see an eye doc as well.

Lisa, I have that visual disturbance a lot. It is a common vision problem for me.I always see the shadow behind the letters, but some days it is more pronounced than others. I don't know what it is called, either. I also have what looks like a veil over everything at times.....I feel like I want to blink to clear the vision, but that doesn't work. I see me eye doctor on regular basis and have glasses, but the problem is still there. My eye doctor says it is the m.s. causing the trouble.
