For the past day or two, I've been having muscles twitching, tremors, and spasms in the side of my neck (especially on the right) and even weirder, along the bottom right side of my jaw. It feels really strange and a bit painful.

I've also noticed an increase in muscle spasms in my legs, particularly my right leg. Normally, the spasm are really bad in my left leg, and I have a lot of weakness in that leg. It bothers me that it's "spreading" over to my other leg now. I just hope the weakness doesn't spread too or I won't be able to walk at all!

Has anyone else had anything like this, particularly the jaw and neck problem? What can I do about it? I'm already taking the maximum dosage of baclofen that was prescribed for me.

Hey Lisa,

Okay that sounds really scary.  I don't have much experience with this beyond some spasticity in my legs.  This sound like you need to call your doctor.  I am sorry that this is happening.  Hang in there.

Hopefully someone will come along shortly with some good advice for you.  But do tell your doctor.  Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.  Keep us posted.

Love and prayers,

Hey Lisa

Wow...i agree with Gretchit, that sounds bad! I do have some spasms or twitching in my jaw muscle on the right side..same side as all my other symptoms...but it's nothing like u'r experiencing. Not really painful at all...just there and a bit annoying. I agree too that u should cal u'r doc if u'r already on the max dose and still having so much pain. Please don't let u'rself be in pain...u deserve to have some relief and i know u'd welcome it. Take good care friend and let us know how this goes for u.

Hello, I have not been online at Healing Well for a while, and just read your post today. I had a major exacerbation in November, 2005. Since then some symptoms have diminished and some new ones have appeared. One of the latter is a spasm in my jaw muscles. I have trouble chewing (weakness and control-I bite my tongue when I am eating) and occasionally when I am awake the muscle will jerk and my teeth click together. The worst part about it has been the spasm when I am asleep. My cheeks are relaxed and I bite one or the other in the front lower part of the inside of my mouth I was getting permanent sores because they didn't heal up between each injury. However, there is good news. I was diagnosed with probable MS in July. My doctor and I decided together to use low dose naltrexone and I stared 10 days ago. All my body jerks and jumping are fading, my balance is much improved though I still use a cane for safety's sake. Fatigue was terrible but I know that is improving also because I no longer feel the overwhelming need to sleep 12-14 hours per day. The essential tremor I had been experiencing in almost gone, appearing only when very tired or otherwise stressed. I even felt well enough to take a day trip to Mexico with some friends on Tuesday and didn't have to go to bed immediately after I arrived home. Still some weakness, tingling and imbalance, but I am much improved overall. Wonderful!! New symptoms must be addressed quickly, I am told. Press in to find what suites you best. I am checking the send email box so I will know if there is a post after mine. Remeber the ant and the rubber tree plant. :>) Jeshurun
