Waiting to hear about your Lab test Kile.

I was shocked to read about everybodies problems, I also thought it was just me. But strangely, I only have the problem of the odor on just "one" of my cheeks & nowhere else. (And have only noticed it in the last year). So I was thinking it was going to be a Dermatologist issue. Not sure if I can try the Milk Thistle since I am allergic to Ragweed ?? I do have a doctors appointment next week for something else & considering asking for a Lyme's Disease test. (I also have no insurance to be running back & forth to doctors appointments).

So~~ Curious to hear from you Kile.

Thank you for bringing this to light. I too have been suffering from this awful fishy time smell - it seems to come from my ears mainly and between my breasts where they rub. I absolutely hate smelling it. I suffer from fibro and my liver tests are all abnormal. I will give Milk Thistle a try! Thanks!

Hi everyone, I got my blood work results. Everything looks perfect. The only thing that's hi is my colesterol and that is to be expected due to the Sustanon (testosterone). My smell has gone away I think completelly. I dont smell it anymore. But I think that if I stop the test cycle it will come back. I will continue the cycle for an additional 12 months.

My candida test came back and it is a lower reading (amount) of candida count in my blood. Which is good news.

I will ask my dr (Edelberg) for a cycle of diflucan and nystatin these helped allot it completelly removes the fungus from the body but it was temperary. This eliminated the smell for a few weeks. There was one person on previous postings that talked about a some type of a tea that completelly eliminated the smell.

Also my lyme desease test came back negative. This test is only accurate 50 percent of the time.

things  that worked somewhat  are probiotics, (tanalbit),  candita diet and the stuff that I have mentioned before. My next step will be to do a Fical test to see if my intestants are working properly.

Try the (X2). I am no smell free now for about 5 or 6 months. Please read my posts and you will find many answers. I go out with my friends all the time, and there is nothing wrong anymore. Get a colon cleanse probiotics and many more things that will help.

The silver bullet is Testasterone therapy. I take one shot of sustanon every 20 day's. it took about 3 to 6 weeks to heal my intestants so they are no longer permyable. But you must read allot about this and you must learn everything there is to know because there are side affects.

If you need more info let me know.

THIS MESSAGE IS TO EVERYONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. ENYONE WHO TRY'S ANY TYPE OF THERAPY NEEDS TO COME BACK AND TELL EVERYONE SO WE CAN LEARN MORE THINGS about IT.

smilewinkgrin   I AM SMELL FREE. :-) tongue  THANK GOD. I GO OUT WITH MY FRIENDS ALL THE TIME NOW. ITS GOOD TO BE BACK. THANKS

KILE,

U have givin me real hope. I too was once ladies man until this problem occured 2months ago. I havent found out till recently over the past 3wks. I could usually just walk to the store and pull a female. Hell i could Just walk out the house and grab a females attention but lately it hasnt been the same. I still can catch their attention but when i get within a couple feet its done and over with. everything that has happend to me in the past 2months i started to realize why. At 1st I thought I mustve had a big booger in my nose or something. But by the 10th girl i hit on and didnt obtain i knew something was wrong. I would ask everyone whats wrong do i have a booger, do i smell, whats wrong everyone replied you fine ur just paranoid. so i begin to think im going crazy. Till i started to realize all the disgusting facial expressions on everyone face when i came around. And still to this day my family and friends is denying my smell. But if and when the wind blows the wrong way i can smell myself when im the most cleanest person i know and my family knows but everyone treats me as trash. Its like when the heat hits my body i start to cook and smell like a trashbag left in sun. I can feel the radiation producing the smell even if i cant smell it right then and there but everyone else does. Been thinking bout suicide alot lately like theres no hope. until ur post it made me feel alot better n that there is hope keep posting. And thanks for being a man of yo word for stayn posted. ill try and do the same. any advice please let me know bro and thanks alot for the hope i almost gave up

To anybody that is suffering with the condition that causes your skin to smell really bad, then this may be your lucky day.....For over 10 years I have had this very bad smell coming from my nose and chin as well as behind my ears and other parts of my body......I have been searching for a cure to this problem for the last few years as it had got to a stage that I had developed very bad breath as well......It got to the point where I would see friends and others reel back in horror at the smell coming from my breath.....I realized that the smell on my skin was eminating from the sebum that is produced from the seabicus glands that are found on many areas over our skin. Sebum is that yellow/white substance that you can squeez out between your nose and face.....It is the same stuff that you get when you squeez out a blackhead.....Like so many of the sufferers of this condition, I had tried many different things to get rid of this with no improvement......I had searched the net and seen so many posts from others with the same problem and nobody seemed to have a reliable cure........For those of you that suffer (many in in silence) with is condition, I feel your pain.....It has to be one of the worst ailments that a human being has to put up with.....You become isolated ,reclusive and withdrawn.....You avoid close contact with others and intimate relationships become a thing of the past.......A few weeks ago , I went to see my Chiropracter, Bill Daivison......Bill runs a Wholistic Healing Center in the Sutherland area of Sydney......I have a lot of respect for Bill.....He has helped many people with different problems and has kept my aging body in good shape over the past 10 years.......I told him of my problem with my stinking skin and bad breath.....This is a condition that I am sure many of you find difficult to discuss with anyone ,even your own Doctor ....He diagnosed me with a Gall Bladder problem and recommended that I take Lemon Juice first thing in the morning before anything else......Within a week of taking the lemon juice every morning , my life changed........After 3 weeks my skin is completly smell free and my bad breath seems to be gone.......I can't tell how happy I am to get rid of this condition.......I had seen a Natrupath a few weeks before I had gone to see Bill and she had recomended a liver detox product which I kept taking at the same time......It may have helped as well, but I have the feeling that the Lemon Juice was the real cure.....If you look up Health Benefits of Drinking Lemon Juice on the net , you may see lots of reasons why this may cure your condition........I sincerly hope that this infomation will help many of you who suffer from this dreadfull problem and will give you the best Christmas Present you can give yourself this year.

As a last resort I went to the internet.  I have read all the posts.  Some are close to my problem, but not as severe.

The odor I have is at the base of my skull at the hairline.  It is terrible.  As soon as I get in the shower (daily) and the water hits me the odor is strong.  I shampoo, towel dry and the smell is still there.  I thought it might be the Tempurpedic pillows I sleep on.  (4 on the shelves airing out)  I change the pillow case every night and it the morning I wake up with the strange oder I can't describe.  I have no other areas of odor.  I thought it might have come from a first time hair perm I received 3 months ago.  I am 77 (2 more days) in excellent health. Have been taking Lipitor (80mg) for several years and recently (Feb) Chantix and high blood pressure medication (long before the odor began).  Liver functions were normal at last blood test.   As others have said, it is most embarassing.  I can't even cover the odor with perfume.  Is this the same problem others are expressing?  I don't know what to do.

I too have this smell coming from my chin and the cracks of my nose. At times my face smells like throw up or cheese. This is so embarrassing. I won't go into the psychological stress this has caused as many of you have similar stories. But what's interesting is that my family members never detect the smell, however when I go out in public people always smell me. Anyway I started the milk thistle last week. This is my 6th day taking it. The smell on my chin and nose has lightened up a little but it is still there. But the fact that the smell has lightened up has given me a little hope. This week I will continue the milk thistle and a new vitamin called glycine. This week I am also going to start drinking lemon water as this helps the liver. I'm also going to watch my diet as well. I will report back next week. By the way, I was reading another forum about facial odor and someone made a very interesting comment. One particular person said that the facial odor was related to gluten. Meaning if we follow a gluten free diet the symptoms would go away. Has anyone ever heard of this? Anyway I know it's been a long time since some you posted but I am curious to know how Kyle and miswontwin are doing since you guys both overcame this issue.

Hello!
I am so glad I read this! I'm in my 20s and have suffered of cyst acne since 4th grade. However it wasn't until last year when I started to have skin odors. I thought at first it could be a change of diet, hormones due to switching birth control, or moving. I also experience multiple yeast infections last year. It's been about a year since the odors started, and have been self conscious about it with roommates and boyfriends. I find the odor most prominent in the creases of my nose and if I rub my scalp.

A common symptom of cyst acne is Seborrhoeic dermatitis which is an over abundance of oil being secreted in skin creases such as behind the ears and nose. I am thinking this can be closely related.
I am currently in Italy until May and am beginning to panic that I cannot see my doctor soon enough. So let me know if you have any advice.

Hi Gloria001, I read your post today, pity I didn't log on before, anyway , with the lemon juice cure, you sqeeze 1 whole lemon into a cup or glass and drink it before you have anything else...I put a little boiling water in with it as it is suppesed to help clean your digestive tract  . I wait about 15 to 30 mins before a have my morning cup of tea....Also my healer that gave me this cure recomended eating pears as well.....The lemon juice is to help get your digestive system up and running.....He also told me to lay off the cheese and chocolate.....So far I am pretty much cured of this problem.... Mine was allways first thing in the morning and I would wake up and the bedroom would stink from my skin and breath....That dosen't happen anymore!!!....Thank God......I am still researching this as I know 1st hand how bad you must feel if you suffer from this condition and it seems that the Doctors don't know how to treat it....According to them it is the bacterea on your skin that causes it .....I have a feeling that it is a condition that starts from somewhere internally........Another benifit of the lemon juice is it helps with weight loss.....Since I started taking the Lemon Juice , I have lost over 5 kilos in weight......Not bad in 3 months.....Let me know how you are going and if this is helping,,,Best of Luck

Hello,
Sidespinner.

After you drink the lemon juice first thing in the morning, what is your diet like for the rest of the day. Are you able to eat anything you want? I know you said you cut back on the chocolate and cheese, but did you have to change your diet? Im going to start the lemon juice tomorrow. I'm hoping this works. I started taking the milk thistle for two weeks now. So far, the smell has lighten up but it is still there.

Hi Hopeless 13, I am on a high fibre diet as my cholesterol is always been high and I have come off taking statin drugs for the last 12 months....I try and stay away from eating to much saturated fat and fried food.....I have had this problem for over 10 years and it gradually got worse over the last 3 to 4 years....I have read all the posts over the past few years and it seems that even if you are healthy , it can still affect you...I dont have M S or any other disease that I know about....I get my liver funtion and blood tests done each year and they come back normal , other than my choleserol which always seems to be high......I have tried Oil reduction drugs for my skin as well as Milk Thistle, Liver De-tox drugs and I have heard of Glysine...I am surprised that Doctors don't seem take this problem that seriously....The phsycological affect that it has on someone can be very damaging...I can remember not that long ago, that I thought that I would never have another close relationship with another human being if I could not find a cure for this......That's a pretty dark line of thinking to deal with....I am going to continue to try and find the root cause of this condition even though I have pretty much cured myself.....I still think that there is an underlying problem internally that causes it.......Best of luck to you Hopeless 13 and all the others that have to put up with this......Hope that next time you post that your handle will be Hopefull 13....Sidespinner

Thanks so much Siderspinner.  I hope next time I post I will be in a hopeful state of mind.  Thanks for the lemon water tip.

Here's in update about my smelly skin.  I've been taking milk thistle for a month now, and although my facial odor is still there, it has lighten up; meaning its not as strong as it use to be. Furthermore, since I don't have insurance, I decided to go to a naturalist.  The naturalist diagnosed me as having a yeast overgrowth.  Over the last two weeks I've been on a strict diet of eating just meat and vegetables for lunch and dinner. For breakfast I eat eggs. I only drink water and lemon water. The naturalist also gave me anti-fungus pills and a detox liquid. I think I am on the right path as my facial odor isn't as strong as it used to be. But who knows tomorrow might be completely different. I am trying my best not to break down, but this issue has made me an outcast, self-conscious, insecure, paranoid, and most of all scared that I won't be able to live a normal live.  I use to only pray that my situation would get better because I thought I was the only one that had this problem.  But when I found this site and found out how many people are just like me, I now pray that all of our situations will get better.

Hi Hopeful 13, Hang in there....I know exactly how you feel....you are on the right track...yeast infection or over abundance of yeast my be the root of the problem.....which is what we both, and everybody else who has this problem needs to find out....,Don't dilute the lemon juice with to much water and drink it straight if you can to start with.....Don't forget....First thing in the morning before anything else....Use the juice of 2 fresh lemons, and you should feel your digestive tract making a few gurgling sounds after about 15 mins.......The ares that everyone who has this problem are generaly in the same ares.....the crease in the nose, behind the ears,on the cheeks of the face and the chin....These are where the sebicus glands are and the sebum that the glands produce is that white'ish, yellow'ish stuff that comes out of your skin when you squeeze the side of your nose or when you squeeze out a blackhead...A high proportion of the sebum is made up of cholesterol.....Cholesterol is produed in the liver when you are asleep......I have always had high cholesterol.......The Gall Bladder is part of the same system (i think)....It is either the Endocrine or Exocrine System that helps the body to de-toxify......Take a look on the Net to see how the systems work......I know that females are more prone to yeast problems than males are...( I have a feeling that you are a female ?) but I am sure that males can suffer from over-abundance of yeast too...I have always been a very heavy user of sugar and sweet things, so you could be on the right track....I think that the Lemon Juice is doing a great job in helping me from the first week that I started taking it ...I have to rub my chin quite hard to get any smell to come out......I still think that there is an underlying condition that has yet to be solved, but the Lemon Juice seems to be doing a great job of masking the smell.......The one thing that you can't do is   GIVE UP !!!.....One way or another I am determined to find out what causes this.....No one would understand how terrible it cam make you feel inside when you suffer from this.....It makes you isolated from the rest of society as you start to think that everybody that you get close to can get a whiff of that nasty stink.....So you avoid going out and don't interact with anyone unless you have to......I am not having to think like that anymore, but I am still going to find out the root cause of this as I think it is so damaging to somebody's mental state......I am there for you Hopefull 13....Let's keep working on it until we find a solution......We will find a cure and get you and hopefully everbody else who has this condition the solution that they all need.......If you want my direct e-mail address , let me know on your next post....Best of Luck....Sidespinner

So I have read through all the threads and I have to add my concern/problem. I've had 2 chemical peels done to lighten and hopefully eventually get rid of an old tattoo. What a chemical peel basically does is burn the top layers of skin off, just like a strong laser would. Both processes take many treatments to get results but the tattoo is something that I've regretted for many years and its right on my chest area so if I wear a v-neck type of top it is visible and I just hate it. So, I finally decided to do something about it. So, like I said, I've had two peels done over a 3 month period. The last time one I had done was about a month ago and my skin is now healed but the area that was treated now has a cheesy smell. Every time I get out of the shower and after I dry off I notice it, and it stays with me. I can't wash or wipe it off. Strange right? It's got to be some kind of fungal type thing. I just thought I would add to this thread because it seems to me that there may be many reasons that the skin might have a cheesy/garbage smell. I'm really not convinced that we all need to go out and get a colonic in order to take care of this. Any other thoughts?

Hi everyone, I am doing very well I have an excellent job and feel much better than before. I also have fixed my memory problems with a medication for ADHD or ADD, also I have fixed my energy problems with the NutriBullet. Every day now I make 2 large shakes with raw fruits and veggies. I can go to work for 13 to 16 hours without any lunch. No kidding. But still something has been bothering me. Something is just not right.
Well I just found out what is the ROOT CAUSE of all the problems I am having. These problems are off the charts, too many to list. But one of them is the problem I've had for a very long time and it was the bad body smell. Just recently, i've been having some gastrointestinal problems that are just everywhere and could not understand what in the hell is going on. So after allot of reading and going to 6 different DICK'S ups sorry Useless Doc's, one person refereed me to A GURU Dr. Mihir K. Bhayani, A THROAT SPECIALIST. I told him of all my problems and he agreed to do a blood test for ( hyper-parathyroid-ism). It came back positive.
Yep this is the root cause and source of all my problems. Every single one. The test is very easy and I got the results next day. Most Doc's are not able to diagnose and look through all the problems and find the cause they just like to prescribe antibiotics for everything. So far I had 13 doctors that prescribed be antibiotics within 10 seconds. You must run away from these people. Not ever a car mechanic can diagnose a problem that fast on the simplest automobile. Most of them are very Cocky and know it all. If you see a doctor and he is not interested to listen the hole story then he is not a good one.

My friend is a Doctor in NY and see's only 5 patients a day and spends 1 to 2 hours with each one.

So the moral of my stupid story is that this problem has to do with some type of hormonal dysfunction.
Also I saw this story that I thought it could be of some help, See below:
Why does my friend smell like beef jerky?
February 21, 2011 12:01 PM Subscribe
Are there any dermatological/gastrointestinal issues associated with a smell similar to beef jerky?

To preface, I'm not asking for medical advice and none of you are going to give medical advice over the internet.

I've made the observation that one of my labmates/friends happens to possess a rather unique beef jerky/musty type smell. I've never picked up on a similar odor before which probably isn't that unusual, but this friend has some unresolved health issues. Her boyfriend lives with her and pretty much mirrors her diet and exercise but does not possess the beef jerky/musty smell. My hypothesis is that some peculiarity of her metabolism that is possibly related to her unresolved health problem is resulting in a metabolite that I'm able to smell.

The friend in question is a 23 year old Caucasian female with German/Irish/English ancestry. Athletic physique and exercises regularly. She was diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency which they don't know if it is secondary to hyperparathyroidism.

She experiences a nagging, 'popping' pain in her lower gastrointestinal tract on the anatomical right at approximately the ilium crest. The gastrointestinal pain presents with 'fatty stool' (not a large amount, described as yellow and mucus-y) and can happen after eating an apple or similar. Ovarian cysts have been ruled out, as well as food allergies. She's had a full endoscopy and her doctors have ruled out Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. As an aside, her colon is about 12 inches too long but doctors do not believe this to be a problem. She is overly sensitive to certain cosmetic products and will break out in a facial rash and believes this may be related to food but is not certain. She has been to three separate gastroenterologists and one dermatologist to no avail.

So, basically we all have or had this smell, and candida, and gastrointestinal problems, and is gets worse with the wrong diet, and it is mainly in the face area, and it has to do something with fungus, and maybe liver, pancreas, maybe kidney's. And the only things that actually work have to do something with the diet and the internal organs and how they process food.

For me the answer I have been looking for is Hyperparathyroidism and it has to do with the way my hormones control my bodily functions all over my body.
I also want to bring this to your attention, the fact that the girl with the beef jerky smell from my previous post has the same and exact symptoms as I do.
Such as low vit D, Hi Calcium, Hi cholesterol levels ,intestinal problems and Hyperparathyroidism.
What I would like of anyone who can do this, is to have a blood test and see if you have the same or similar results. Maybe its a vitamin deficiency or a hormone problem that comes from a thyroid condition.
I think we have come a long way from the day's were we had no idea or any knowledge of this.
So please everyone do some research on thyroid and see if you have any of the symptoms, or maybe you have a blood test that has the same results as ours. Thanks and God bless

HI everyone I'am new to this site but just like everyone here I'm also havin the same problem with this dead rat type smell.. so like everyone else I ran to the internet for answer which lead me to this info I"m posting on many different cause of body odors. hope this helps... ....If you would like to read the full article you can go to http://voices.yahoo.com/bacteria-inside-body-causes-body-odor-6392506.html?cat=70 .....please let me know if this help

1)Bacteria on the outside of your body effects body odor. However, growth of bad bacteria inside your body increases offensive odor.
Candida thrives off sugars and carbohydrates. Candida yeast or bacteria turns sugar into alcohol causing your body to emit a beer-like smell. This can affect men and women. Avoid anti-biotic which destroy good intestinal bacteria as well as the bad. Restore vitamin K that is made in your intestines by eating plenty of leafy greens and whole grains. Help restore the natural flora of your intestines with Lactobacillus Acidophilus.

2)An imbalance of the bacteria TRIMETHYLAMINE causes a medical condition called, trimethylamuria. Over growth of trimethylamine, normally found in your bowel, escapes into your circulatory system. Trimethylamine produces an offensive fish-like smelling body odor. This smell can come through your sweat, urine, vagina, mouth and breath. Using contraceptive pills, diet, exercise, infection, menstruation and stress trigger excessive growth of trimethylamine. Some proteins should be restricted and foods containing choline added to your diet. Anti-biotic help control excessive growth of these bacteria inside your body. Wash with low pH-balanced cleansing products to help control external body odor.

3)HALITOSIS: is caused by anaerobic bacteria that proliferate around your teeth, tongue and gums where oxygen does not reach. While there are hundreds of bacterium living in your mouth, conditions like tooth decay and gum disease cause an unpleasant odor that escapes when you breathe. Do not eat foods that get stuck between your teeth like meats, caramel, chewy or gummy candies. Use floss and brush your teeth and tongue regularly.

4)INTESTINAL FLATUS: is formed when digested food leaves the stomach and passes into the intestines. Bacteria in your large intestine continue the digestion process. Odorous gas called flatulence is expelled through the rectum.

Be aware, some of these bacteria can cause health problems. Incurable body odor may be a sign of a serious underlying medical condition. If your abnormal body odor persists, consult your doctor.
