Saturday a.m.

Happy Holidays to all my Healing Well buds:

I do not know about everyone else, but this time of year, I TRY to put my MS problems as far back of the burner as I can....

I live in Detroit area...and there is a radio station that has been playing all Christmas music since Thanksgiving..

How about a quick survey?  Name favorite song and performer?

For me...."Santa Claus is Coming to Town, " Bruce Springsteen.

Any other entries?  Merry Christmas.  John

ps--although the other evening on PBS, there was the Three Tenors singing Christmas music....awfully pretty.

Oh John,

How could you!!!!  I do not like that song!!!  He sounds so awful and gravely and then he sings about Santa!!!!  It is absolutely frightening.  What about Bing singing White Christmas or Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms??? Those would be my choices.  So Merry Chrimstmas to you anyway buddy.  You are so positive and always very inspiring, John, despite your unorthodox taste in Christmas music.

Oh one last song, Christmas time is Here by Vince Guaraldi.  I am not sure how to spell his name.

Love and prayers,

Wait John!!!!

If you like Santa Claus is Coming to Town, then what about The Crystals.  They were not exactly a motown label but they had a classic sound.  A much better choice than Bruce !!!!! yeah

Love and prayers,

Hey John,
Are you going to let Gretchen get away with this, LOL. See how she is. I love the Boss. I actually saw him sing that song way back in December of 1980 in Philadelphia with Clarence on the sax. It was awesome. But i like to hear Frank Sinatra/Dean Martin sing the Christmas songs personally, any song, they are all awesome, so i guess i have to side with Gretchen and go with the old timers doin the X-mas carols even tho i don't want to, hehehehe. I also like the song Dominick the Donkey (the Italian X-MAS Donkey), LOL. Cute story for you: I used to waitress at a little Italian restaurant and the owner had all the old X-mas music. The bartender was such a funny guy, and every so often, to piss the owner off, he would sneak that song on, and the owner would get sooooo mad at him. It was a good laugh. It was a very classy restaurant, and to hear that song start playing while we were serving these high class folks was hilarious. Anyways, have a fabulous holiday, and Jiggady Jig, HeHaw HeHaw! LOL.
Love
Lynn

This is the song on you tube incase you all never heard it, its hilarious. (imagine being in a classy place for dinner, and this song came on, it used to be so funny, and pat the owner would come running out to the bar to stop the cd. I hope you get a chuckle  out of this little story)

Gretchen, I'm sorry but you musical tastes are somewhat lacking. Can I say -- conservative!!!? I love the boss too. One of the best concerts I ever attended was seeing Springsteen in Cleveland when I was in grad school.

That being said -- I also like "Grandma got ran over by a reindeer" and "All I want for Christmas is a hippopotamus." :)

Okay ouch!!!  I am not saying I don't like Bruce!!!  I love Bruce but I do not like that song!!!  Hahahahahaha.   My tastes in music are not at all conservative.  You should see what I listen to now!!!!

Barb!!!!  Did you not listen to Dominick the Donkey???  That is horrible!!!!  And you questioned my taste in music!!!  Hahahahahahahahaha.  Ok Dominick is kinda cute.  And the visual that Lynn created is hilarious.

Merry merry, happy happy!!!

Hey Guys

Well i love all the old and new songs since Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday of all, but i do have some favs. Of course i just listen...don't really pay attention to who's singing unless i don't like it...and then i just turn it off! "Jingle Bell Rock" is really cool and of course Santa "Clause Is Coming to Town"! Has any one heard "Mary Did You Know"? That's an awesomely beautiful song that simply takes my breath away when i listen. Check it out if u get the chance. It's a Christian song, so maybe not so played on our radios, but if u find it, take time to listen and enjoy.

John...don't worry about Gretchit...she's a bully and no one really likes her anyway. (u know she DOES have worms!!) ;)

Ok I am very unhappy to report this, my son Teddy can sing the Dominick the Donkey song now by heart.  He kept at that link until he knew all the words.  He is quite musical and it took a very short time before he was singing it and driving us all completely mad.  Now I am sorry I ever said anything against The Boss.

Jiggity Jig Heehaw heehaw!

I added a subject heading to this thread since there wasnt one :-)   My favorite Christmas song is, well, The Christmas song by Alvin and the Chipmunks!!  That donkey song was very cute, really enjoyed the laugh so thank you for posting it LOL.  DH enjoys any Christmas music sung by Elvis of course, hes a big fan of the King!!  His favorite is Elvis' version of Silent Night.

AH HA Gretchen,
That will teach ya! The kids do think it's a silly song. When i was playing it Dana came down and was rollin on the floor laughing at it.
She knows Tommy the bartender and how silly he used to be, so i told her the story about the restaurant and she was crackin up.
I'm glad you all enjoyed the story, it is hilarious. He used to do such crazy things, but the owner loved him, i guess thats why she never fired him, LOL.
Love,
Lynn

Oh Dominick the Donkey, I love that song. The first time I ever heard it was a couple of years ago at the Christmas concert at the kids school. It's so cute and funny.
I have so many favs at this time of year it's hard to pick one really :)
Merry Christmas everybody.

Wednesday a.m.

Very good morning Gretchen:

How about if we agree to disagree.

As far as Springsteen concert attendance, I was lucky enough to buy second row seats for a conceret in 1980.

You could take every concert I had ever attended previos from every artist, and in total they were not as good as that concert.

Merry Christmas, All!!!!

John, who is Born to Run!!!

PS---I will  admit---I really like the video of Bing Crosby and David Bowie singing "Little Drummer  Boy."
