My ostomy nurse switched me over to Coloplast a while ago because of some skin issues i was having. They come with these white plastic clips for the end of the bag. I have yet to use them because they just look so weak, and the last thing i need is to always be thinking that the clip will give way and leak. Does anyone use these things?  They don't seem like they would last more than a day. I've always kept the brown plastic ones that come with Convatec products and they always work great.  I just can't see those white plastic once working very well.  I could be wrong though.

My clips leaked. The Coloplast Assura pouches do not require clips. You might want to try those. Which Coloplast products are you using. The Convatec clips are fabulous, very secure. Can you get a hold of some of those clips and use them with the Coloplast pouch? My skin is very sensative to these products. The ONLY product that does not adversely affect my skin is Hollister New Image. Have you tried these products? My home care ostomy nurse works all over the state of Florida and she specializes in working only with people who have "skin issues." She came to my home bacause my skin was red, rashy, bumpy, and bleeding. She started me on the Hollister New Image. It took about a week for my skin to adapt to the change and begin to heal. I like these products because they do not require clips and there lock and roll system has been flawless. You may want to see if they will send you some samples to try.

I hope this helps.

For years I used the same brown clip (yes just one clip!) b/c I did not trust those white things! Now I use the bags that come with the great clips so it's easy.

I've never used clips. The Coloplast pouches I use have a velcro opening, and they've never let me down.

I love the Convatec clips. I also love their appliances. I've used just about everything on the marked and I always go back to Convatec.

For me, it's velcro all the way. No worrying about dropping clips down the loo!

Hollister New Image Lock and Roll here.  Waaay more convenient than the clip and hasn't failed yet - even when put to the test!
