Well it has been several weeks since I got back out on the road and so far every thing is going fine. One thing I have noticed is that I did not come out with enough supplies to last as long as I had hoped. I did not think I would be out for as long as my mother wanted to be. I drive team with my mother. She had planned for six weeks out and I had only planned for four. So, this next load we have that goes to Wisconsin will put us in the region to get back thru the house to pick up more supplies to last me the rest of the time out.

But other than that, everything is going good. I have not had any bad leaks and such, I get 4 days out of my bag, which is good really. I don't have to mt near as often as I had expected to, I can still eat the things that I normally would out on the road. I just hope that the rest of my time with "the bag" will be as good as it has been so far. cool

That's great that you're feeling good and are out there traveling the country. What an inspiration you are to all of us! If you ever need supplies on the road and are far from home, you can always pick some up at a local medical supply store. Have fun! :-)

I don't know of any places on the road to be able to get some supplies and we usually don't have much time between drops to be able to stop anyway. Fortunately we will be going thru the house soon and I'll be able to p/u the much needed supplies.

Thanks for all the praise for what I'm doing. I hope all of you who are in the same situation as I am do well.

Time to get back behind the wheel, I have a long drive ahead of me. I hope to be able to make it to Evanston,Wy before mom takes over. Right now we are in Vegas switching out so I can drive.

Thanks for updating us. It's real helpful for me (just returning to work) to hear of your success. Good luck & keep on truckin! (do they still say that?)

Ileostomy since August 2005.
As result of surgery (modified whipple) for necrotising pancreatitis. Removal of gallbladder, 2/3 of pancreas, resections of large and small intestines. Massive infection. 8 months in ICU at Westchester County M.C. (I think that's a record). Second surgery for resection due to fistulas in January 2007. Been slowly recovering since then. Possible reconnection candidate.
