Apparently the new type of filters by Hollister don't need the stickers from what I've heard. Try them without the stickers and see if they work well - do it as an experiment for the rest of us :)
I have had an ileostomy for 32 years now due to UC.

i did go for a while without the stickers and they did fine, but i just like to have the stickers over them, i leave it on all the time, don't really know why, but it makes me feel better, lol. Just one of those weird things.

i recently got bags with filters, do the filters really work with gassy bags? are they supposed to let the air out thru the bag? does it smell when it comes out?

The filters work until they get wet. They work with colostomies but they dont really help with ileostomies because the output is usually watery and they get wet from the inside. The gas that comes out through the filter doesnt smell because it is made out of charcoal. Hope this helps.

i have never seen fliters do anything! but they don't leak or anything, or smell, at least not that i have seen. The reason i like to keep the sticker over it, is because i tape the top of hte bag down, and it goes over the filter, well when i take the top off, it pulls at the cloth, and after a while, since the cloth is slit a tiny bit there, the cloth comes off and it looks icky, but if i put the sticker over it, then that doesn't happen.
