pro biotics and bags

do u guys think probiotics can be effective on those of us that have bags? ive been reading about them alot on the crohns forum and wanted to pick some up to try. but im not sure how they are digested, has n e one tried them, what do yal think?
25 y/o female- crohns disease since 14
Ileostomy pending-very worried
Tried asacol,pentasa,prednisone,remicade,6mp,azasan, no avail
Seatons placed
Worst year ever!

I took them before my colostomy and still take them. I don't care for yogurt,so the probiotics work well for me. I buy ones that have no gluten. They are digested same as any other capsule. Can't hurt to try them and see if you like them.

There were some other discussions on this forum about probiotics, in fact, I think I asked about the same question a while back. What sticks in my head about that discussion was that the "best" ones to get were the ones that had to be stored in the refrigerator. Something to do with keeping the bacteria alive. And, no, I haven't begun them yet, but I do intend on starting them. I want to get all of my annual doctor appts/labwork out of the way first and get their opinions. Esp because I am working with an Endocrinologist now as well.

From what I have read and talked to others about, Probiotics are really beneficial and certainly a good thing for us "altered bowel states"!!!!! lol

Let us know what you decide and why. I'm still gathering opinions myself.
